Today we’d like to introduce you to Iam Kingstarr.
Hi Iam, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I got here today trusting and standing by a supernatural divine unforeseen force . I was a very quiet kid with hidden dreams and ambitions due to older people shoving them under their rugs saying “that’s not realistic” when I was younger )because I liked something , but wasn’t dealt with the best deck of cards like the bullying that happened to me growing up . I believe some go through stuff but some go through more because of their higher calling in life . Going through 17 foster homes , I’ve learned many ways and lives of people and how they to wanted me to live their lives like them and their family’s but I always knew I was different as a kid but kept my mouth closed and observed the darkness in the world and treatment from humanity despite knowing who I was , was always bullied and beat up for being feminine or to tall .my whole life I’ve been an artist, singer , content creator and spiritualist to add but it wasn’t until my very first picture on the Detroit free press for helping out in the flint water crisis back home in Michigan at the age of 16 . Didn’t know that was gonna happen as I was doing a good deed for humanity . Year 2022 I became the first lgbtq Black Lives Matter to protest in Michigan and in Michigan alone with that name . Because of the work I’ve done being an organizer I got put in a Lansing state journal for that . 2023 is when I joined TikTok where i brought my homeless situation to my supporters on TikTok and basically needed up homeless for about a year but I was already homeless before TikTok living in my car . Fast forward to 2026 where I’ve amassed way over 16 million views and have 2.3 million views singing . I’ve gotten the attention of Mariah Carey , Nicci Gilbert of brownstone ( maryum Tatum , Mariah Carey’s back ground singer ) and so much more because of my authenticity. 2025 I was diagnosed with ptsd . I’m learning to manage that because that’s what I’m good at and nobody knew I had it . Growing up I had a horrible troubled life in Detroit but it doesn’t mean I have to be that growing up and into more of my adult stages !
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I remember one time foster care workers put me with this black family and they had an older woman there with the family . One time she told me I was just gonna get a ford because I said I loved a Cadillac . My life has in ways been surrounded by majority of that same spirit . Even at 28 years of age now , I still struggle to get up to believe in myself with the way the world has treated me , but I do it because I love myself and because I look forward proving any spirit wrong .
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’ve been noticed around Michigan and Georgia for being an activist and content creator on TikTok amassing over millions of views giving my opinionated reviews on politics , homelessness , foster care and etc . I’m proud I’ve gotten that name because each journey step took a leap to get me where I am today . the journey I took and why my name is called the way it is and why I hold some small title successes . Is because of Everything I went through. time , patience, prayers and emotions played a role .
Alright, so to wrap up, is there anything else you’d like to share with us?
I can sing up to an 4 octave range , I have a nice shaped body but it’s natural lol , I’m 6’4 !!
