Exploring Life & Business with Nell Alexander of Lucky’s Oil

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nell Alexander.

Nell, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My journey started with a simple desire to create something meaningful—something that could positively impact people’s everyday lives. My background as a student-athlete taught me the value of discipline, consistency, teamwork, and showing up even when things get difficult. Those lessons eventually became the foundation for my entrepreneurial journey.

Over the past few years, I’ve helped grow Lucky’s Oil, a natural skincare and body-care company focused on promoting wellness, self-care, and confidence from the inside out. What started as an idea has grown into a business that has served more than 1,000 customers, participated in dozens of pop-up and vendor events, and generated meaningful sales while building genuine relationships within the community.

For me, Lucky’s Oil has always been about more than selling products. It’s about creating an experience, encouraging people to take better care of themselves, and building something that brings people together. Through partnerships, community events, networking opportunities, and collaborations, I’ve been able to connect the brand with people from many different backgrounds.

Today, I’m continuing to build Lucky’s Oil with the goal of taking it to the next level—expanding our reach, creating more opportunities for collaboration, and eventually bringing our products into retail spaces. I’m proud of how far we’ve come, but I’m even more excited about where we’re going. This is still just the beginning.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Definitely not. Like any business, the journey has come with its share of challenges. One of the biggest has been learning how to grow a business while balancing everything else life requires. Building Lucky’s Oil has meant figuring things out as we go—marketing, finances, product development, customer relationships, events, and learning how to turn an idea into something sustainable.

There have also been times when growth felt slower than expected, especially when trying to expand our reach and establish the brand in new spaces. But those challenges taught me patience, consistency, and the importance of staying committed even when the results aren’t immediate.

I’ve learned that setbacks aren’t necessarily signs that you’re going in the wrong direction—they’re opportunities to adjust, learn, and come back stronger. Every obstacle has helped shape the way I approach business today, and honestly, some of the hardest moments have been the moments that pushed me to grow the most.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Lucky’s Oil?
Lucky’s Oil is a natural skincare and body-care company built around one simple idea: self-care should feel good, look good, and become part of your everyday lifestyle.

We specialize in natural soaps, body butters, and skin and hair oils designed to support healthy skin, personal hygiene, and overall wellness. But what truly sets Lucky’s Oil apart is that we’re focused on creating more than just products—we’re creating an experience. We want people to feel confident, refreshed, and intentional about how they take care of themselves.

What makes our brand unique is the combination of quality, authenticity, and community. We’ve built Lucky’s Oil through direct relationships with our customers, pop-up events, collaborations, and community partnerships rather than simply relying on traditional retail. That has allowed us to hear directly from the people we serve and build a brand around their experiences and needs.

I’m especially proud of the fact that we’ve grown organically and have already served more than 1,000 customers while participating in dozens of pop-ups and vendor events. We’ve also had the opportunity to collaborate with organizations and community groups, allowing Lucky’s Oil to become part of experiences that extend beyond skincare.

Ultimately, I want people to know that Lucky’s Oil is a lifestyle brand rooted in wellness, confidence, and connection. Whether someone is discovering us for the first time or has been supporting us for years, our goal is for them to feel like they’re getting more than a product—they’re becoming part of something.

We’re proud of where we are, but we’re even more excited about where we’re headed. Our vision is to continue expanding our products, partnerships, and retail presence while remaining true to the personal touch and community-driven foundation that helped build Lucky’s Oil in the first place.

What does success mean to you?
I define success as growth, impact, and the ability to create something that outlives you. It’s not just about how much money you make or how big your business becomes—it’s about the lives you touch, the relationships you build, and the opportunities you create along the way.

For me, success means being able to look back and know that I stayed true to my values while continuing to evolve. With Lucky’s Oil, success is seeing people genuinely enjoy our products, watching the brand grow, creating opportunities through partnerships and community events, and knowing that something that started as an idea has become something real.

I also believe success is being able to inspire someone else to believe that they can build something of their own. If I can grow Lucky’s Oil into a respected brand, positively impact my community, and open doors for others while doing it, then I consider that success.

The goal isn’t simply to make a living—it’s to make a difference while building a legacy.
