Today we’d like to introduce you to Jyl Dieter.
Hi Jyl, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Ever since I was a little girl I have always loved having a camera in my hand. From my Hannah Montana camera as a kid to now having a variety of camera equipment, it truly has been a lifelong dream come true! Growing up I was always the person taking pictures and sharing them online. I enjoyed quietly capturing special moments of friends & family, and also documenting many family trips to the U.P. where I made travel diary videos for my youtube I had at the time. I never thought about making photography more than just a hobby until the fall of 2024. I asked a few friends to model for me and went into the shoots super nervous because I felt so unqualified. Little did I know that those sessions were just the beginning of so much more that the Lord had in store for me. I named my business Heavenly Moments to represent Jesus being the foundation of my business. He has blessed me immensely with a gift of photography and has brought so many amazing clients & their families into my life! I will always strive to capture the Lord’s beauty and creation in my work. Heavenly Moments is coming up on 2 years in business and I’m so excited to continue watching it grow. I have found a passion for wedding & couple photography, and it has been so special capturing such beautiful love stories with my clients. Thank you Jesus!!
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I have truly been blessed with an incredible photography journey so far. My friends & family have been so supportive and encouraging, and my clients have quickly turned from strangers to friends. I am so thankful! As with all things, there are moments of doubt and uncertainty, but through the strength of the Lord I know that He will sustain me. My best advice for anyone reading this, business owner or not, surrender to Jesus and let Him lead the way! He is so kind and gracious, and His love is truly the reason Heavenly Moments has grown in the ways that it has.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I truly pray that Heavenly Moments is known for representing Jesus. When I began this business that was my one and only goal, to spread the love of Jesus. In 2023 the Lord graciously turned my life around and has given me such an understanding of His love, and I pray I can show that same love & kindness to everyone that I meet through my business!
What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
A quality I feel is most important to my success is most definitely trust in God. There have been many moments of doubt and fear that I am not cut out for this industry, but each time the Lord has kindly helped me continue moving forward and trusting Him with Heavenly Moments. I never thought I would be a business owner, let alone at 23, so there are many things I am continuously learning and adjusting. It has been a beautiful experience so far for so many reasons!
