Today we’d like to introduce you to Keilon Stewart.
Hi Keilon, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
It all started with my mother coming from Jamaica. She never really taught us about where she came from or why she came to the United States. Growing up, I spent much of my life questioning who I was and where I belonged.
I found pieces of myself through sports. I signed myself up and participated in track, baseball, and football throughout Willow Run Middle School and Ypsilanti High School. Then, while playing baseball, I met a friend named Spencer who introduced me to FL Studio.
That one moment opened a door that would never close.
From there, I began creating music. Eventually, music led me into video, visual art, design, and eventually creating my own worlds around the things I imagined. What started as making songs became a way for me to express emotions, experiences, ideas, and parts of myself that I couldn’t always put into words.
Every aspect of my art comes from a different part of my life.
The Renegade shoe represents the heart of Michigan — sturdy, stylish, and never backing down. It represents the mentality I’ve carried throughout my life: keep moving forward regardless of what people think or what stands in your way.
I’ve learned to manifest my emotions physically through my art. I don’t simply create because something looks or sounds good. I create because I feel something first. That emotion becomes music, imagery, fashion, design, stories, and experiences.
Keiz2Life is my journey of discovering who I am by creating what I couldn’t find.
My art is meant to create a mysterious connection with people — something they can feel before they completely understand it. Because when something comes from a genuine place, it can naturally resonate with something inside someone else.
I didn’t always know who I was. So I started creating until I found myself.
That, to me, is Keiz2Life.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Nothing has ever come easy for me. I’ve been on my own since I was 16, with no guidance, no help, and no safety net. I’ve struggled with homelessness, transportation, and not finishing school. By the time I was 26, I felt so far behind that it seemed almost unreal.
Becoming a father changed something in me. My firstborn son became one of the biggest reasons I pushed myself to work harder and keep developing every craft I had. I knew I had to keep going—not just for myself, but to create something he could be proud of.
I’ve learned that sometimes you have to keep knocking on different doors until one finally opens. I’m still working toward that breakthrough, but I refuse to stop creating.
I believe anything is possible with enough faith in yourself, dedication, and practice.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m a multidisciplinary artist and creator working across music, visual art, video, fashion, shoe design, and creative storytelling. I don’t like limiting myself to one medium because each form of art allows me to express a different part of who I am.
I started with music after being introduced to FL Studio, and that eventually expanded into creating my own visuals, designing products, developing concepts, and building entire worlds around my ideas. My work is heavily driven by emotion, imagination, and my experiences growing up in Michigan.
One example is my Renegade shoe design, which represents what I see as the heart of Michigan: sturdy, stylish, resilient, and never backing down. My music and visual work follow that same mentality. Everything I create is connected to a larger story.
What I’m most proud of is that I’ve continued creating despite the obstacles I’ve faced. I didn’t have a traditional path, formal guidance, or a clear roadmap telling me how to become an artist. I had to teach myself, experiment, fail, learn, and keep going.
What sets Keiz2Life apart is that I’m not trying to fit into one category. I’m building a creative universe around my experiences. Music can become a visual. A feeling can become a shoe. An idea can become a video, a story, or an entire world.
I want people to experience my work rather than simply consume it. If someone sees something I created and feels a connection to it before they can even explain why, then I know I’ve accomplished what I set out to do, and this is what I’m known for.
I’m Proud of turning life experiences into something tangible—and proving that you don’t have to come from a perfect beginning to create something meaningful.
Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
My support circle is so small, I sometimes joke that I almost don’t fit in it.
Outside of my children, who are my biggest fans and my greatest motivation, I have a very small group of people who have consistently been there for me: my cousin Dominic, my sister Abreana, and my friend Kolette.
These people have supported me through some of my darkest moments. They’ve helped me see situations from different perspectives, challenged me when I needed it, and reminded me of the person I’m capable of becoming.
Their support has helped me continue growing—not only as an artist and entrepreneur, but as a man, a father, and someone who hopes to eventually mentor and inspire others.
I may not have a large support system, but the people I do have mean everything to me. Sometimes you don’t need a crowd. You just need a few people who genuinely believe in you.
