Today we’d like to introduce you to LaTyra Murray.
Hi LaTyra, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I started Trinity Support Group Services in 2017 with very little experience, just a vision and a lot of faith. Before launching my own agency, I worked for other home-care companies, watching, learning, and realizing I could create something better. At the time, I was a young mother of two, depending on myself to provide and build a future for my family. I didn’t feel valued at my job, and even though quitting was scary, I stepped out on faith and trusted the vision God placed in me. I’ll never forget a woman named Holly telling me, “Tyra, why are you still working there? You know you can run a business. You’re different.” Her words sparked something in me. I wasn’t chasing money, I just knew I could truly help people. I started the process, made plenty of mistakes, and learned even more. As a young Black woman in business, I faced challenges, but each one made me stronger and more determined. Even now, I’m still learning. I’m still growing. I still make mistakes, but I fix them, learn from them, and keep moving forward.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
No, it definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. Entrepreneurship has taught me so much about business, but even more about myself. I’ve had to navigate financial challenges, insurance delays, compliance requirements, building the right team, and learning how to delegate instead of trying to do everything myself.
One of my biggest lessons has been realizing that as my business grows, I have to grow too. Balancing being a CEO, a mother, and still making time for myself hasn’t always been easy.
But through every challenge, my faith has kept me grounded. There have been plenty of moments when I didn’t know how things would work out, but God continued to make a way. I’m still learning, still growing, and I’m proud that I never gave up.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Trinity Support Group Services is a faith-based, non-medical home care agency that helps seniors and individuals with disabilities remain safe, comfortable, and independent in their homes. We provide personal care, meal preparation, light housekeeping, transportation, companionship, respite care, and other everyday support.
What sets us apart is that we truly understand what families are going through. Our motto is **“Let Our Family Help Your Family,”** and that’s something we genuinely stand behind. We want families to feel like they have someone they can trust to help care for the people they love.
I’m especially proud of the growth of our company and becoming CHAP accredited. To me, that represents how far we’ve come and our commitment to providing quality care at a high standard.
More than anything, I want people to know that Trinity is about more than providing a service. **Home is healing**, and our goal is to help people receive the care they need while remaining in the place they know and love.
Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
First and foremost, I give all the credit to God. My faith has carried me through every season of this journey.
I’m also incredibly grateful for my family. My sister has been my Payroll Specialist and has been with me from the very beginning. My cousin serves as our Care Coordinator, and my brother, handles Compliance. Each of them has played an important role in helping Trinity grow into what it is today.
Having my family believe in the vision and work alongside me makes our motto, **“Let Our Family Help Your Family,”** that much more meaningful because it truly represents who we are.
Lastly, I’m extremely grateful for the **Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses program**\. The program came at an important time in my journey and gave me the tools, knowledge, resources, and connections to look at my business from a different perspective\. It challenged me to think bigger, become more strategic, and put systems in place that could support Trinity’s continued growth\. The experience helped me take my business to another level, and I’m thankful for the lessons and relationships I gained through the program.
