Today we’d like to introduce you to Kimberly Johnson.
Hi Kimberly, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
My name is Kimberly Johnson and I am the lead photographer and owner of Three Ten Studios. I started my journey over 10 years ago, doing photography as a hobby; I would take my camera to every event I went to with my family, capture all of their milestone moments and every beautiful view I could get my hands on. 4-1/2 years ago, my husband encouraged me to go full-time with my business. Since then, I’ve captured very special moments for hundred of clients and I would not be where I am today without the love and support of my friends, family and followers.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Photography is such a saturated market. This journey hasn’t been without its challenges. However, the key factor is to keep going and keep advertising. Your clients will fall into place. It took me a year or two to get fully established into being actively booking. Once you find your niche, it’s much easier to focus on those specific clients.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Three Ten Studios is known for its creative way of capturing the most intimate moments. I’ve never been a point and shoot kind of photographer. I strive for the most intimate, messy, and unexpected moments. Sure, I’ll grab smiles directly at the camera during your session. However, I want you to feel the emotion pouring out of my images – and that is what I am most proud of.
Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
What makes me happy is making everyone else around me happy. I adore smiles, laughter and pure joyful moments. It truly heals my soul.
