Today we’d like to introduce you to Kristine Choate.
Hi Kristine, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I have absolutely loved doing hair since early in high school. I have been licensed for 14 years now which seems so crazy to say! I started my journey in the industry by attending cosmetology school followed by assisting, working in commission salons and then finally going off onto my own with owning a suite.
I then opened my own storefront salon and owned that for 5 years before returning to a booth rental position while educating other hairstylists as well.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has not but every bump in the road leads to a lesson and furthers growth. I wouldn’t change a thing!
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a vivid specialist and I also love doing hair extensions and alternative cuts! I am also an educator who focuses on teaching vivids to other licensed professionals and students.
I genuinely care so much about impacting others in a positive way both behind the chair and through my education.

I absolutely love a good podcast! There are quite a few industry podcasts I love along with some other business podcasts that come from outside of our industry. I love hearing perspectives and mindsets from other entrepreneurs and creatives.
