Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Always a struggle finding good clients and projects.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Lott3 Metz Crutcher Architecture?
Lott3Metz Crutcher Architecture (L3MC) is an architecture, planning, and urban design firm focused on creating projects that strengthen communities. We specialize in adaptive reuse, historic preservation, community development, housing, commercial and institutional projects, and helping clients navigate complex zoning, entitlement, and development processes. Our work extends beyond designing buildings—we help clients turn ideas into successful projects by combining design excellence with practical development expertise.

What sets us apart is our ability to bridge architecture, planning, and development strategy. We understand both the design process and the realities of financing, approvals, and implementation, allowing us to guide projects from the earliest vision through construction.

We are especially proud of our commitment to Michigan’s cities, our work in historic preservation and adaptive reuse, and our role in creating projects that have lasting community impact. Our brand is built on thoughtful design, personal service, and long-term relationships, with a belief that good architecture should improve neighborhoods as much as it serves our clients.

Risk taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
We try to avoid or at least minimize risk for our business and for our clients.
