Meet Dalila Ericiga of Lalas Mantillas

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dalila Ericiga.

Hi Dalila , thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I’m originally from Mexico, and like many entrepreneurs, my journey has been filled with both challenges and opportunities. After moving to the United States, I balanced family life while searching for a way to build something meaningful that reflected my values and creativity.

My passion for beautiful European lace mantillas inspired me to create Lalas Mantillas. I realized that many women were looking for elegant, high-quality veils that honored tradition while remaining timeless and sophisticated. Instead of focusing on fast fashion, I chose to specialize in authentic European Leavers lace and carefully selected designs that can be treasured for years.

Building the business has required learning everything from importing products and e-commerce to photography, branding, customer service, and social media. It hasn’t always been easy, but every challenge has helped me grow as both a business owner and a person.

Today, Lalas Mantillas serves customers across the United States and beyond. More than selling mantillas, my goal is to help women feel confident, elegant, and connected to their faith and traditions. I believe that when you build a business with passion, integrity, and genuine care for your customers, it becomes much more than a business—it becomes a way to make a positive impact on people’s lives.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely has not been a smooth road. Like many small business owners, I have faced financial challenges, the uncertainty of starting from scratch, and the constant responsibility of balancing entrepreneurship with family life. There were times when I questioned whether I was making the right decisions, especially while learning everything on my own—from importing products and managing inventory to building an online store and creating content for social media.

One of my biggest challenges has been building a brand that stands for quality instead of simply competing on price. I chose to work with authentic European lace because I believe craftsmanship and timeless elegance matter, even when that path requires greater investment and patience.

Every obstacle has taught me something valuable. Instead of seeing setbacks as failures, I see them as opportunities to improve, adapt, and become more resilient. Looking back, I realize that those difficult moments shaped both my business and my confidence as an entrepreneur. Today, I’m grateful for the journey because it has allowed me to build a business that truly reflects my values and my commitment to serving my customers with excellence.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Lalas Mantillas?
Lalas Mantillas was founded with a simple mission: to preserve the beauty, elegance, and tradition of authentic European lace mantillas while making them accessible to women who value faith, modesty, and timeless style.

We specialize in carefully curated European Leavers lace mantillas, premium jacquard veils, and elegant head coverings for church services, weddings, quinceañeras, and other meaningful occasions. Every collection is selected with great attention to craftsmanship, quality, and design rather than following fast-fashion trends.

What sets Lalas Mantillas apart is our commitment to authenticity and the personal experience we provide every customer. We believe a mantilla is more than an accessory—it is an expression of reverence, femininity, and tradition. That philosophy guides every product we offer and every interaction we have with our customers.

Beyond offering beautiful pieces, we invest in educating our community about the history, artistry, and proper care of European lace. We also help customers choose styles and colors that complement their personal taste while honoring the significance of the occasions they wear them for.

The accomplishment I’m most proud of is building a brand that has earned the trust of customers across the United States and beyond by focusing on quality, integrity, and exceptional customer service. My goal is for every woman who discovers Lalas Mantillas to feel confident that she is investing in something beautiful, meaningful, and made to be treasured for years.

What was your favorite childhood memory?
One of my favorite childhood memories is spending time with my family, especially traveling together and creating memories that I still cherish today. I also loved participating in activities at church. I am proudly a member of The Light of the World Church (La Luz del Mundo), a community that has been an important part of my life and upbringing.

Through my experiences at church, I learned the importance of faith, family, community, and serving others. Those experiences helped shape my values and continue to guide the way I live my life today.

They remind me that some of the most meaningful things in life are not material possessions, but the relationships we build, the traditions we preserve, and the faith that keeps us grounded.
