Today we’d like to introduce you to Mitchell Perkins.
Mitchell, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My professional background is in bars, restaurants, and golf. I have worked in bars and at golf courses throughout the past 10 years. When the opportunity to put those two experiences together became available; I took it. Big Mini was my first opportunity to help open a new business concept in Grand Rapids from the ground floor and almost two years later we are really finding our groove.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
There are always challenges in the way of advancing a career. Every obstacle that made me change direction on my career path has led me to where I am now.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
We believe that mini golf is for everyone, which is why you don’t need to be a local pro to have fun at the Big Mini. The 9-hole courses were designed and built by the Big Mini team to be challenging yet fun for all skill levels…and perhaps slightly more challenging depending on how many drinks you’ve consumed before or during your round.
The course and bar design hearkens back to simpler times: when you could spend your summer nights challenging your family, friends, and/or foes to a couple rounds of mini golf – then cool off with a slushie.
Oh and we’re not really a “club.” Just a place to have some old school fun and get some delicious drinks.
How can people work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
We love to have our local influencers come to the bar and post on their accounts to show off the fun activity options that we offer for our city.
