Today we’d like to introduce you to Kieara Johnson.
Hi Kieara, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I have always known I was meant to be an entrepreneur. Even as a child, I knew that whatever career path I pursued, I wanted to build something of my own. I officially began my entrepreneurial journey at the age of 18.
Over the years, I started several businesses across different industries. Some were successful, some failed, but all taught me lessons I could not have learned any other way. Like many entrepreneurs, I spent years trying to figure it out on my own. I chased growth, worked long hours, celebrated wins, and experienced setbacks that forced me to rethink everything I believed about success.
One of the biggest shifts in my journey came when I realized entrepreneurship was about more than building a successful business. God began showing me that everything we have, our time, resources, relationships, gifts, opportunities, and yes, even our businesses, has been entrusted to us. Success is not simply measured by what we build but by how faithfully we steward what He has placed in our hands.
That changed everything.
Instead of asking, “How do I build a successful business?” I began asking, “How do I faithfully steward what God has entrusted to me?” That shift transformed not only the way I lead but also the way I define success.
Out of that journey, Steward With Strategy was born.
Today, Steward With Strategy exists to equip faith-driven entrepreneurs to build sustainable businesses and lives through biblical stewardship and practical strategy. My passion is helping business owners move beyond simply growing a business to becoming faithful stewards who lead with wisdom, build with excellence, and create lasting impact for the Kingdom.
Looking back over more than two decades of entrepreneurship, I can honestly say that every success, every failure, and every unexpected detour served a purpose. They shaped not only the entrepreneur I have become but also the mission I now have the privilege of leading.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely has not been a smooth road, and honestly, I would not change it because every challenge shaped who I am today.
Like many entrepreneurs, I have experienced both success and failure. I have started businesses that thrived and others that did not. I have made costly mistakes, questioned my decisions, and had seasons where I wondered if I was on the right path. Entrepreneurship has a way of exposing your strengths, but it also exposes your weaknesses.
One of my greatest struggles was tying my identity to my business. When things were going well, I felt successful. When they were not, I questioned my worth. It was exhausting because my confidence rose and fell with my business results.
That was the season when God began changing my perspective. He showed me that my identity was never meant to be found in what I built but in who I am in Him. My business is something I have been entrusted to steward, not something that defines me.
I still believe in excellence, growth, and building successful businesses, but my definition of success is very different today. Success is not just about revenue or recognition. It is about faithfully stewarding what God has placed in my hands.
Looking back, I can honestly say that the difficult seasons taught me far more than the easy ones ever did. They developed my character, strengthened my faith, and ultimately gave birth to the mission behind Steward With Strategy.
As you know, we’re big fans of Steward With Strategy. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Steward With Strategy is a business development organization that helps faith-driven entrepreneurs build businesses that are sustainable, scalable, and aligned with biblical stewardship.
We work primarily with established business owners who have proven their concept and are ready for their next stage of growth. Many have reached a point where they are generating revenue but are also experiencing the growing pains that come with success. They need more than another strategy or motivational message. They need structure, clarity, and a framework that helps them build well.
That is where we come in.
What makes Steward With Strategy different is that we believe stewardship should shape every business decision. Too often, stewardship is reduced to finances, but we believe it extends to how we lead people, manage our time, steward opportunities, build systems, and carry the vision God has entrusted to us. We bring together sound business strategy and biblical principles in a way that is both practical and actionable.
I am most proud of the perspective we are bringing to the entrepreneurial world. We are inviting business owners to think differently about success. Instead of constantly asking, “How do I get more?” we encourage them to ask, “How do I faithfully steward what I already have?” That shift changes the way a business is built, the way decisions are made, and ultimately the impact that business can have.
My hope is that when people encounter Steward With Strategy, they see that following biblical principles does not require sacrificing excellence or ambition. In fact, I believe faithful stewardship is what positions entrepreneurs to build businesses that create lasting impact for their families, their communities, and the Kingdom.
What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
If I had to choose one quality, it would be teachability.
Entrepreneurship has taught me that success is not about having all the answers. It is about being willing to keep learning, growing, and allowing yourself to be refined. There have been many times when I thought I had the right plan, only to realize there was a better way. Those moments required humility more than anything else.
My faith has strengthened that perspective. I have learned that if I want God to lead my business, I have to remain teachable enough to let Him change my thinking, even when it challenges what I have always believed or how I have always operated.
I also believe teachability fuels persistence. Every setback, every mistake, and every unexpected turn has become an opportunity to learn rather than a reason to quit. That mindset has allowed me to keep moving forward for more than two decades as an entrepreneur.
I am still learning. I still ask questions. I still seek wisdom from God and from people who have gone before me. I believe growth begins the moment we remain willing to be taught.
