Today we’d like to introduce you to Tonia Hobbs.
Hi Tonia, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My story has really been about creating a life and career that feel as intentional as the homes I love to create.
I started my career in corporate America, but I’ve always had a strong interest in real estate, interiors, and the way our homes influence how we live. Eventually, I became a licensed Realtor and began helping people navigate the home buying and selling process, particularly first-time buyers, Veterans, new construction buyers, and people relocating to Metro Detroit.
As I worked with clients, I realized that my passion went beyond the transaction. I loved helping people see the potential in a space, how thoughtful design, styling, and even small changes could completely change the way a home felt. That realization led me to create Livable Luxe Home, a platform where I could bring together my love of real estate, interior styling, and lifestyle.
What started as a real estate and interior styling concept has continued to evolve. Through creating content, styling my own home, working with brands, and investing in my interior design education, I’ve learned more about the kind of work I truly want to do. I’ve stepped away from traditional eDesign and am focusing more intentionally on interior styling, outdoor living, and creating beautiful, livable spaces while continuing to share the process through content.
One of the things I love most about this journey is that I’m not presenting myself as someone who has everything figured out. I’m building the business and the life I envision in real time. My own home has become a kind of living laboratory. Whether I’m transforming a guest room, creating an outdoor entertaining space, experimenting with a garden, or setting a table for friends. I share those projects because I believe beautiful design should feel attainable, personal, and connected to the way we actually live.
Today, Livable Luxe Home is evolving into a lifestyle brand centered around what I call “the lifestyle of home” the idea that home is about much more than how a space looks. It’s where we gather, entertain, recharge, celebrate, and create memories. My goal is to inspire people to create homes that are both beautiful and genuinely livable, while continuing to grow a business that brings together my passions for real estate, design, and lifestyle.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely hasn’t been a completely smooth road, and honestly, I think that’s been one of the most valuable parts of the journey.
One of my biggest challenges has been learning to give myself permission to evolve. I’ve had to step back at different points and ask myself what I actually enjoy doing and what kind of business I want to build, rather than feeling like I have to stick with a direction just because I started there.
I’ve also had to learn patience. Building a brand and creating opportunities doesn’t happen overnight. There have been pitches that didn’t receive a response, opportunities that didn’t work out, and plenty of moments where I’ve questioned whether I was moving fast enough.
Balancing my corporate career while building something of my own has also required a lot of discipline. But those challenges have taught me that building a business isn’t about having everything figured out. It’s about being willing to evolve, learning along the way, and continuing to show up.
Livable Luxe Home doesn’t look exactly like I imagined when I started, but it feels much more like me and I think that’s the real progress.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Livable Luxe Home is a lifestyle and interior styling brand centered around the idea that home should be both beautiful and livable. My work sits at the intersection of interior styling, outdoor living, real estate, and lifestyle content.
I’m especially drawn to creating spaces that feel elevated without feeling untouchable. I love mixing timeless pieces with approachable finds and showing people how thoughtful styling can completely transform the way they experience their home.
What I’m most proud of is the evolution of Livable Luxe Home and the community I’m building around it. I’ve created the brand by sharing not only finished spaces, but the process the projects, the decisions, the lessons, and even the things that don’t work the first time.
I think what sets me apart is that I bring a real estate perspective to design. I understand that a home is both a personal space and an investment, and I’m interested in how we can make it beautiful, functional, and meaningful at the same time. Ultimately, I’m less interested in creating homes that simply look good in photographs and more interested in creating homes that make people want to live in them.
What matters most to you?
What matters most to me is creating a life that feels intentional not just successful on paper.
That philosophy is at the heart of everything I do. I believe our homes should support the way we actually want to live, whether that means creating a beautiful space to come home to, a backyard where people naturally gather, or simply making everyday moments feel a little more special.
I also value authenticity. I’ve learned that the more I trust my own perspective and allow myself to evolve, the stronger my work becomes. I don’t want to create what I think people expect from me; I want to create what feels genuinely true to who I am.
Ultimately, I want the work I do and the life I’m building to feel like the same thing beautiful, meaningful, and intentional.
