Today we’d like to introduce you to Andrea Petteway.
Hi Andrea , it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Being a mom of 4 and a new military spouse has thrown many trials my way but i find myself to have the most strength in times of adversity. One day i woke up and decided I wanted to pour into me more individually and find a new way that I can contribute to my family financially while doing something I love. That’s when I decided I wanted to start my virtual assistant business. The number one satisfaction I get in life is helping others. It starts with how I show up for my family, I enjoy doing for them and seeing the fruits of my labor through their smiles and warm hearts. With several years of professional career being in administration I knew that this could be a journey that could sprout into so much more. Now that I am in the thick of military life I am learning how difficult it is for military spouses to navigate a career while supporting their soldier. I am in the beginning stages so building my clientele is priority but my longterm goal is to hire other military spouses and give them a rewarding opportunity to show up for someone and make their life easier through my virtual assistant services.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It has not been a smooth road especially while juggling 4 children 8 and under but with time management and excellent organizational skills( two important skills to have as a virtual assistant) everything is starting to come into place. Finding the time and balance to outreach to get my first clients were a bit harder when the kids were on summer break but now that school is back in session I am taking full advantage to market and outreach to grow month by month.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
The Effortless Aide is a start up virtual assistant service business offering administrative services, client/account management, and overall helping small businesses run more efficiently. What sets me apart is my several years of across multiple industries which has caused me to know how to adapt quickly, understand different business needs and being able to bring transferrable skills to each client. I am most proud that this is my first business that only has me building it from ground up and each reward comes from a place of my hard work and effort. I am also very proud on how much support I am receiving on social media for my new business. I want each and every person that encounters The Effortless Aide that this brand is more than just a name. It has been built on a scale of remembering humanity in each connection that we make for a possible client.
If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
I feel the most important quality to have for success is integrity.
