Hi Vernon, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Where did I get started with Videography?! – That would’ve been at East Kentwood Highlschool in about 2010. I was apart of the schools Audio/Visual team who was in charge of putting together the new cast for the school. The behind the scene production work peek my interest at that time and it was so amazing to me how it was that production would all come together. This drove me to day dream about cinematography and music video. Into my mid 20’s i would become a Music Video director for up and coming artists.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I’d describe my path as a continuous adventure, full of growth and excitement. But it definitely hasn’t been without its hurdles. Wearing multiple hats as a DJ, videographer, and photographer means spending a lot of time in late-night environments. The nightlife world offers plenty of side routes that can easily throw you off track from your main goals, so navigating those detours while keeping my long-term focus has been one of my biggest learning experiences.
On the business side, shifting from pure creative mode to facts, figures, and logistics can feel pretty jarring. I realized early on that I don’t have to do it all alone. I’ve worked hard to surround myself with a team that covers those operational details, which frees me up to focus completely on what I do best: creating.
