Today we’d like to introduce you to Aaron Amos.
Hi Aaron, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I am a former senior morning show producer at WDIV TV 4, Detroit’s NBC affiliate & WXYZ-TV 7, Detroit’s ABC affiliate. After graduating from Lewis Cass Technical High School, and since my start at Wayne State in the Fall of 2010, I’ve devoted himself to the field of journalism. Born and raised in Detroit on the city’s westside, I believe I owe much of who I am to this city. I’m an alumnus of the famed Journalism Institute for Media Diversity, Cass Technical High School, and is a member of the National Association of Black Journalists. I started my career in televison working with Total Christian Television in Detroit, The TODAY Show in New York, People to People Student Ambassadors in Europe, and the Tavis Smiley Show in Los Angeles. I was the creator, executive producer and writer of my own radio talk show, Black Bottom Radio that was used as an avenue to empower, inform, and discuss the black experience — interviewing and working with individuals such as Nipsey Hussle, India Arie, Big Sean, Tamar Braxton, Erica Campbell, Snoop Dogg, Kenya Moore, Deborah Joy Winans and more.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I would say that it has been pretty smooth.
The only issues I’ve encountered has been the jealousy or envious nature of co-workers or counter parts.
From co-workers creating fake email address impersonating me to one putting saline solution in her own water making herself sick. It’s been wild.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m an emmy nominated television producer.
Probably most proud of my experiences.
I’ve produced the summer Olympic games twice.
The America Thanksgiving Day Parade for five years.
There so many other cool moments in between. Meeting some of the most iconic people.
What was your favorite childhood memory?
