Conversations with Buzz Pumpkins

Today we’d like to introduce you to Buzz Pumpkins.

Hi Buzz, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
We started in 2019 after Creature and myself met Vlad through our local Kroger. He said he moved up from Florida where he did the Vlad act solo, and asked if we wanted to jam with him. Me and Adam both being musicians, but never really playing in real bands, of course said yes. We jammed for a while and had great chemistry playing together and started playing/hosting open mic nights at a local bar. Flash forward 7 years, we’ve opened for a number of national touring acts, released our first full length album, and our stage show has grown to include many wacky, zany circus tricks and skits. We’ve played all over Michigan and branched out to nearby states, even playing the Gathering of the Juggalos in 2025.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
For being 3 goofy clowns, the road has been surprisingly smooth! We’ve stayed consistent over the years and have been able to navigate everything that has come about in eachothers personal lives, whether it be moving, having kids, or career changes.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
We are a spooky rock n roll trio that specializes in good times and spooky tunes. We play a wide variety of originals and covers spanning all genres and styles. Our stage show is a mini circus rolled up into a rock show. A Vlads Skeletal Circus show has anything from unicycling, juggling, magic, costume changes, and everything else you could expect out of a rock n roll carnival. I’m most proud of the fact that wherever play, whoever we play with, everyone in the crowd will find something to enjoy in our set. Whether its our music, our stage shows, or just chatting with us in the parking lot, we assure that everyone can have a good time at one of our shows!

Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
My advice for anyone starting out is to be genuine and have fun. Crowds can tell when you’re disinterested or phoning it in, so just go out there and play. Interact with the crowd, be goofy! People go out to be entertained! Starting out, I wish we took some more risks trying to get shows we thought we’d have no business playing…turns out you never know if you don’t ask! Also don’t disregard the power of social media! It’s a great way to spread your reach.
