Today we’d like to introduce you to Chase Thomas.
Hi Chase, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My story is rooted in creativity, connection, and a lifelong belief that style has the power to change the way people see themselves.
For as long as I can remember, I’ve been drawn to fashion and personal style, not simply because of trends, but because of what style represents. To me, style is one of the most authentic forms of self expression. The way we present ourselves can tell a story before we ever say a word.
Over the years, that passion for style grew into a much larger creative vision. I began to see how fashion, storytelling, and the environments we create can influence confidence, connection, and the way people experience themselves and one another. That realization pushed me to stop thinking of creativity as something I simply enjoyed and start thinking about what I could build with it.
Losing my mother gave me an even greater appreciation for pursuing purpose and creating something meaningful. It reminded me that tomorrow isn’t promised, and if you feel called to create something that can positively impact others, you shouldn’t wait for the perfect moment to begin.
That perspective ultimately led me to create The Chase Effect™, a creative media and entertainment company focused on fashion, storytelling, experiences, culture, and the development of original creative concepts. What started with my passion for style has grown into a larger vision that includes experiences, original media, creative direction, technology, and talent development.
Today, my focus is on building ideas that bring people together, creating spaces where people can express themselves authentically, and developing experiences and platforms that leave a lasting impression. I’m still building, but I’m proud of how far the vision has already taken me, and I’m even more excited about where it’s going.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. Like most creative journeys, mine has come with seasons of uncertainty, loss, setbacks, and moments when I had to figure things out without having all the answers.
There have been times when I questioned whether I was moving in the right direction or wondered how I was going to bring certain ideas to life with the resources I had. But those moments taught me something important. I learned that having a vision doesn’t mean you will always have the full roadmap. Sometimes you have to take the next step, trust yourself, and allow the path to reveal itself along the way.
I’ve also learned not to let difficult seasons define me. I try to let them refine me. Every challenge has pushed me to become more resilient, more resourceful, and more confident in my ability to create something from an idea, even when the circumstances aren’t perfect.
I’m still learning and growing, but I no longer see challenges as signs that I should stop. I see them as part of the process of becoming the person and creative I’m meant to be. That mindset has allowed me to keep moving forward, keep creating, and continue building something that I genuinely believe in.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
My work sits at the intersection of fashion, storytelling, innovation, and community. I create experiences, creative projects, and initiatives designed to help people connect more authentically while embracing their personal style and creativity.
I specialize in creative direction, experience design, fashion, storytelling, and developing concepts that bring people, culture, and creativity together in unexpected ways. I’m particularly interested in creating environments where fashion becomes more than something we wear. It becomes a form of expression, conversation, connection, and storytelling.
One of the projects I’m most excited about is The Tastemaker Room™, a Detroit born creative platform centered around personal style, culture, conversation, and the people who shape the way we experience them. What began as an intimate experience has evolved into a platform for live styling, original media, immersive experiences, creative direction, artist development, and cultural programming.
I’m also developing Style Equity™ app, a platform designed to make discovering trusted creatives and fashion related services more accessible while creating new opportunities for collaboration and community.
What sets my work apart is the way I bring fashion, storytelling, experiences, media, and culture together to create something that feels like its own world. I’m not interested in simply creating an event, a campaign, or a service. I want to create experiences and ideas that people remember, participate in, and see themselves reflected in. Ultimately, I want my work to show people that creativity can do more than inspire us. It can connect us, move culture forward, and create new possibilities.
Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
What makes me happy is watching people become more comfortable being themselves. I’ve always believed that style is about more than what you wear. It’s about how you feel when you walk into a room, the confidence you carry, and the freedom to express who you are without feeling like you have to shrink yourself to belong.
I find a lot of joy in creating experiences that help people feel seen, welcomed, and inspired. Whether I’m creating an experience through The Tastemaker Room, developing the Style Equity app, or building something through The Chase Effect, I love creating moments that bring people together and encourage them to show up as their fullest selves.
Knowing that something I created made someone feel more confident, connected them to someone they may have never met, or opened the door to a new opportunity is incredibly rewarding to me. That’s the kind of work that makes me happy because it reminds me that creativity can make people feel seen, create connection, and give people permission to shine.
