Hi Lauren, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Vibes Café and Wellness Club is a unique Café and Energy Spa located in downtown LaGrange, Illinois. Its recessed location on the main street, lined with restaurants and shops, provides a sense of peace and tranquility as soon as one walks through the door of Suite 110. This space holds an energy all its own. The cozy café welcomes you to enjoy a healthy variety of refreshments: organic coffees, affogatos, protein shakes, adaptogens/mocktails, and pearl protein ice cream treats. Menu items include options of banana, coconut, or oat milk. Refreshments are custom-made to your liking or choose from the list below:

The real magic happens when you walk through the spa door to the specialty energy experiences. The creator of this wellness spa, owner, Lauren Coltri, never intended to leave her career of 20 plus years as a flight attendant, however, a compelling desire to be in charge of her well-being was beckoning. Lauren grew up with an adventurous spirit, but was guided by her mother’s strong reminders of energy awareness. She learned to trust her sense of energetic surroundings and the value of protecting one’s own energy.
After graduating high school in Westchester, Illinois, she moved to Orange County, California. There, she attended the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising, studying product development and marketing. While in school there, Lauren took a job in flight support for a private air and logistics company. Providing flight services for elite celebrity clientele gave her insight to more worldly opportunities. This role introduced her to the thrill of aviation, flying lessons and the career path that led to the love of travel.
Lauren believes in Kismet, divine order and the power of personal energy. All of her experiences seemed to guide her to a purpose at the right time. She did a deep dive to research modalities that would enhance balance and provide relief from the overstimulating stresses of life. Her strong belief echoed in her mind, “Long lasting wellness comes from within and our nervous system needs to be balanced in order for our bodies to heal.” She wanted to create a peaceful space not only for herself but also a place to invite a community of those seeking the same.
Her intense research brought her to test each therapeutic selection that would infuse the custom offerings for her sensory lounge. In addition to high-end vibrational equipment and services, special metaphysical features, such as Reiki, energy workshops, sound bowls along with drumming meditations, are occasionally offered.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I believe some doorways are blocked for a reason and in that way our path is co-created for us. You can choose to ignore it and stay in a comfort zone or one can choose to follow it.
The robotic routine of being a flight attendant after 20 plus years, was stressing, mentally emotionally and physically. I still felt there was something more. So I made that choice to channel all my collective experiences, to create a place with the opposite energy, relaxation on a deeper, healing level.
Getting my visions to reality required constant coordination with construction, regulations and expenses. I encountered some “hiccups” fitting my concepts, and high-end vibrational equipment to remodel a space with conventional building codes. This resulted in a delay of several months.
I perceive the roadblocks as learning experiences.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I love helping people feel better, mentally, emotionally and physically. Always leaning to my innate creative side, I was not a fan of conventional concepts. I noticed too many instances of people with serious health issues and felt there has to be a better way to prevent disease and control our well-being. All of my research culminated in an emphasis on knowing what ingredients are in the products we consume. Vibes Cafe specializes in a healthful menu of organic coffees, lattes, protein shakes, adaptogens/mocktails, detox lemonade and pearl protein ice cream treats.
