Today we’d like to introduce you to Beatrice Mwansa.
Hi Beatrice, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I was born in Kalulushi, Zambia, and later moved to the United States, where I continued my education and built a new life. My journey between these two countries has shaped who I am. Zambia gave me my roots, culture, strength, and identity, while the United States gave me opportunities to grow, learn, and challenge myself.
I attended Davenport University, where I earned my bachelor’s degree in Cyber Defense with honors. While I was still a student, I started blogging and sharing my thoughts, experiences, fashion, lifestyle, and encouraging messages online. At the time, I did not know it would grow into something bigger. I was simply expressing myself while balancing school, life, and the challenges of building a future in a new country.
Over time, people began connecting with my honesty and personality. They saw someone who could be educated and professional, but also creative, relatable, and unfiltered. My platform grew across Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, and other social media platforms, allowing me to connect with people in Zambia, the United States, and many other parts of the world.
I am also the author of The Power of 3: Unlock the Code to a Balanced, Powerful Life. The book focuses on finding balance in relationships, career, personal growth, emotional well-being, and spirituality. It was inspired by lessons from my own journey and my desire to encourage others to build meaningful and balanced lives.
Today, I am proud to represent both Zambia and the United States as a Zambian-American content creator, author, and cybersecurity professional. I want young people in Zambia to see that where you come from does not limit how far you can go. I also want people in America to see the value, talent, intelligence, and creativity that immigrants bring with them. My story is about education, courage, authenticity, and creating opportunities without forgetting where you come from.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has not always been a smooth road. One of my biggest challenges was adjusting to life in a new country while continuing my education and trying to build a future for myself. I had to learn a different culture, find my place, and grow without losing the Zambian identity and values that shaped me.
I started blogging and creating content while I was still a student at Davenport University. Balancing school, personal responsibilities, and content creation was not easy. I did not have a large team or many resources, so I had to teach myself, remain consistent, and continue even when the results were slow.
I also faced criticism because I sometimes mix up the R and L sounds when speaking. Some people online came after me and laughed at the way I pronounced certain words. It was difficult because something I could not always control became a reason for people to judge me. However, I refused to let it silence me or stop me from speaking publicly. Instead, the experience helped me become more confident and comfortable with who I am.
As my platform grew, I also faced misunderstanding and the pressure that comes with sharing your life publicly. Some people struggled to understand that one person could be interested in cybersecurity, fashion, writing, lifestyle, and important community conversations at the same time. I had to learn not to allow other people to place limits on who I could become.
Building a brand that connects with audiences in both Zambia and the United States has also required patience and adaptability because the cultures and expectations can be very different. Through all these experiences, I have learned discipline, resilience, confidence, and the importance of continuing even when people misunderstand or underestimate you.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a Zambian-American content creator, author, and creative professional whose work brings together fashion, lifestyle, storytelling, and honest conversations. I am known for sharing content that is polished but still relatable. My audience sees the elegant side of me, but they also see my humor, opinions, culture, travel experiences, and real-life moments.
My work began with blogging while I was a student at Davenport University. Over time, it grew into a larger digital platform across Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, and other social media channels. I specialize in creating content that connects with people through authenticity. Whether I am discussing fashion, personal growth, community issues, or everyday life, I speak in a way that feels personal and easy to understand.
I am also the author of The Power of 3: Unlock the Code to a Balanced, Powerful Life. The book reflects another important part of my work: encouraging people to create balance in their relationships, careers, personal growth, emotional well-being, and spirituality.
What I am most proud of is building a platform that reaches people in Zambia, the United States, and other parts of the world while remaining true to who I am. I have shown that a woman can have a background in cybersecurity and still be creative, fashionable, funny, thoughtful, and multidimensional.
What sets me apart is that I do not try to fit into only one category. I combine education, culture, technology, fashion, writing, humor, and real-life experiences. I believe people connect with me because I am not afraid to be both polished and unfiltered.
Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
Knowing that something I shared helped someone become better or see life differently makes me happy. I find purpose in encouraging others, spreading positive energy, and using my voice to make a meaningful difference.
I am also happiest when I am doing what I genuinely love creating, writing, connecting with people, and expressing myself freely. For me, happiness comes from living with purpose, staying true to myself, and knowing that my work can bring hope, confidence, or encouragement to someone else.
