Exploring Life & Business with Chase Zaidan of Rollin

Today we’d like to introduce you to Chase Zaidan.

Hi Chase, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Me and my Chef Ivan Matt working at an Asian fine dining restaurant Adachi in Birmingham six years ago. Ivan actually trained me on all sushi related matters during that time and while I progressed from being a food runner to a server, we continue to share a bond during service for hospitality and putting smiles on others faces after our time at Adachi I went away to further my education, but we stayed connected and continued to speak over the years about new things happening in the restaurant scene, as well as our shared love for hospitality. After I finished my degree, I decided it was time to open a restaurant, and I knew exactly who I wanted to do it With so I knocked on his door after about four hours of conversation and a lot of excitement. We agreed that we were the right people to bring Asian fusion fast casual to the Detroit scene from there. We spent two years preparing building menu designing process as well as flow and refining flavors until we were finally ready to open in July. It’s been such an amazing journey so far and I think our talents lend themselves to each other perfectly in our non-compromising attitudes provide Detroit with an incredible experience.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Overall, me and Ivan have worked incredibly together and while there have been a few bumps securing a kitchen space here or getting funding there overall I’ve had an incredible experience working with Ivan and our shared love for hospitality and making people smile has made this process tiring but not challenging

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
We are a refined, robust and flavorful Asian fusion fast casual restaurant located in Metro Detroit focusing on pick up and delivery. Our flavor was designed by Chef Ivan over his years of working in fine dining Asian establishments to give the consumer the most bold interpretation of what Asian fusion can be

Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
Our investors have been a very amazing tool to keep us levelheaded, as well as Ivan‘s discipline to the dream and unwavering faith in our ability to succeed.
