Today we’d like to introduce you to Isabelle Aver.
Hi Isabelle, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
In 2019 my mom sent me to go get a facial while she was sick in hospice. I felt guilty leaving her side but looking back I’m so glad she did. The facial I got was with a lovely facialist, S.J., and what really made that facial so special was the weight lifted off my shoulders by the end. I went into it thinking, “I’m sure she’ll think my acne is so bad!” She was so incredibly kind and we stayed in touch. S.J. helped me clear my cystic acne I’d been struggling with for years and gave me so much confidence in my skin. It was more than a “skin” healing journey, she really helped me so much. My experience with S.J. inspired me to purse an education in esthetics. When I was in school I had no plans of opening a business, I was also in Denver where the market is much more saturated with day spas and med spas. So 2021 I finish school and the next year I moved to Michigan with my family. In 2023, I decided to open my own business. I wanted to create something that felt personal to me and special to the area. Relaxing facials with RESULTS. I wanted to take all the things I love about a facial and pour that into my clients.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Surprisingly— yes! I mean there will always be hiccups along the way but I am so grateful for this community and all of the amazing clients it has brought me. I think where I struggle the most is the business aspect of it all, I can do facials all day long but when it comes to running a business it’s hard work on top of being a mom!
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am an esthetician and I specialize in relaxing facials, body waxing and lash and brow tinting. The majority of my time is spent doing facials, which I love. My facials range from 60-90 minutes and they all include multiple elements of massage. I pride myself on creating custom treatment plans, curated home care routines, and a safe space for my clients to relax.
If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
I was definitely a weird kid! I liked (and still do) all things comedy. I was born at the beginning of ‘97 so I grew up in the best era for pop culture. I grew up in Denver, Colorado and no, I was never a skier, instead my mom would take us to all of the museums Denver has to offer.
