Check Out Arriana Blakes’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Arriana Blakes.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I’ve grown up a creative kid a multi talented at that; I loved painting, drawing, music, dance, and fashion.

Growing up we moved around the city alot, so I attended many schools that included creative arts.

When I became an adult I wanted my career field in fashion but it took a turn and I’ve became a makeup artist for fashion shows instead and thats when my career officially started. I labeled myself an Editorial Makeup artist because I am an artist first and I love playing with texture and color.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Nothing is easy.

Ive struggled in so many ways. My biggest struggle was being “noticed” as you will.

I started in 2017 where makeup was different from what I was doing. My style of makeup was fashion, Bold, creative and I faced alot of criticism because of it but I’ve always strive to be different because thats who I am.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a makeup artist and businesses woman of the brand DreamsArtistry and co-owner of Cool Krunch Kidz.

I now specialize in Soft Glam and Editorial. I am known for my Editorial work in the Detroit fashion community.

What I am most proud of is the elevation of my work and my journey along the way.

What sets me apart is that I am different and authentic, yes I have always learned from others but I make everything my own.

Are there any apps, books, podcasts, blogs or other resources you think our readers should check out?
Yes so I make the effort to exercise and meditate everyday. I read books like “Think and Grow Rich”, “The Alchemist “, and “How to win Friends and Influence people”.

I also listen to podcasts like The Gary Vee podcasts and Sadhguru.
