Daily Inspiration: Meet Alyssa Hodgson

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alyssa Hodgson.

Hi Alyssa, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
All my life I was surrounded by music. Coming from a musical family, my father being a drummer and my mother a Singer, I wanted to follow in the steps. I always loved putting on shows as a kid. Singing was an outlet for me to just me myself and not care about what was happening in my life at the time. growing up being Autistic & Dyslexic was never easy for me. Singing made it little easier. i started to write lyrics when i was about 8 years old. I thought Id put my life into words and songs and try to share them with the world as a the time not many people got what it was like to be autistic and the struggles it faced. So now, Everyday I’m proving to others I and any “disabled” can do things that as a child I/We were told would never be able to do. That puts a smile on my face.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
When you tell someone that your Autistic they either don’t believe you or they perceive the knowledge thinking what social media has told them. they start to treat me as a child in a grown ups body not taking me as seriously. I’ve had many struggles trying to make a name for myself.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m a singer, songwriter. My unique view on the world and share it in my music as well as telling stories about my life and struggles i have faced. I absolutely love seeing people smile listening to my music and that I can share my knowledge with everyone.

Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
Doesn’t matter who you are, everyone has they’re own story to share. its always good to just sit and listen to what the world has to say.
