Conversations with Julius Davis

Today we’d like to introduce you to Julius Davis.

Hi Julius, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
It all started in my grandma’s living room, where I would sit on the floor looking up at the TV repeatedly watching Sam Raimi’s “The Amazing Spider-man” and Spielberg’s “E.T” I couldn’t help but to get immersed in every scene. Even when it was time for my dad or other family members to walk out because it was the 100th time I’ve watched it, I’d still keep watching. I’d then start creating characters for every person I see in real life.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has honestly been a grind to find out who I am. It has been rough throughout the childhood, but who doesn’t have rough times. When I was 14 my father passed from Lymphoma. After that there was an everlasting feeling that I couldn’t explain and it put me in a hole for a few years.

But overall after going through this, and not knowing what I wanted to do after graduation, getting into the art of film has been the best decision I made in 10 years.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Ofcourse, I mainly operate camera, act/modeling, direct and a little bit. of writing, I love it all!

But I’d say I specialize in camera and acting. You will always see me walking around with some type of camera, so I’m definitely known for being behind one. I’m most proud of my acting and modeling as I’ve done a lot of networking this year. One thing that sets me apart from others is that have a natural feel for appealing composition and framing, and I have a never ending work ethic!

What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
One thing that has brought me a long way is learning that any negative energy can be turned into positive!
