Today we’d like to introduce you to TyLicia Broden.
Hi TyLicia, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My journey to becoming a business owner wasn’t a straight line, but looking back, every step prepared me for where I am today.
Professionally, I built my career in the insurance industry, where I developed skills in problem-solving, organization, and resilience. As the eldest daughter, I also learned early on how to be responsible, dependable, and resourceful…qualities that have shaped both my personal life and my approach to business. While I enjoyed building my career, I always felt a pull toward creating something of my own…something that reflected my passion for elegance, confidence, and intentional living.
That desire eventually led to the creation of Chas Lemere, a luxury handbag brand designed for women who appreciate timeless style and quality craftsmanship. What began as an idea evolved into about a year of planning and development, including research, product development, branding, and learning the realities of building a business from the ground up. As a first-time founder, I quickly learned that entrepreneurship requires faith, patience, and the willingness to keep moving forward even when the outcome isn’t guaranteed.
Today, I am preparing for the launch of Chas Lemere and bringing my vision to life one step at a time. From developing the collection and overseeing production to creating the brand experience and connecting with future customers, every part of this journey has been both challenging and rewarding.
More than anything, my story is about betting on myself. It’s about giving myself permission to pursue a dream that once felt distant and trusting that consistent effort, even in small steps, can lead to something meaningful. I’m excited about what’s ahead and grateful for the opportunity to share this journey with others.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely hasn’t been a completely smooth road. One of the biggest challenges has been building something from the ground up while still managing everyday life and responsibilities. I work full-time in a demanding career, so balancing that with the time, focus, and energy needed to build a brand has been a real adjustment.
Another challenge has been the learning curve of entrepreneurship itself. As a first-time founder, there’s so much you don’t know until you’re in it. Such as manufacturing, production timelines, branding decisions, logistics, and making sure every detail aligns with the vision I have for Chas Lemere. There were moments where I had to make decisions without all the answers and trust my instincts along the way.
I’ve also had to learn how to manage doubt, both internal and external. When you’re building something before it’s fully visible to the world, you have to stay grounded in your vision even when things feel slow or uncertain. There were moments where I had to remind myself why I started and keep going instead of second-guessing the process.
At the same time, those challenges have shaped me just as much as the wins. They’ve taught me patience, discipline, and confidence in my ability to figure things out as I go. I don’t see them as setbacks as much as part of the foundation of building something meaningful.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
In my professional life, I am a Personal Injury litigation specialist, where I specialize in problem-solving, organization, and handling complex, detail-oriented situations that require both accuracy and critical thinking. My role has strengthened my ability to stay calm under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and make decisions efficiently…skills that have been invaluable in every area of my life.
What I’m most known for in my professional environment is being dependable, thorough, and solution-focused. I take pride in being someone people can rely on to follow through, stay consistent, and handle tasks with care and precision. I don’t just aim to complete work; I aim to understand it fully and execute it well.
What I’m most proud of is how I’ve been able to take the discipline and structure from my corporate career and apply it to building my own brand, Chas Lemere. Even while working full-time, I’ve been developing a luxury handbag brand from the ground up. I’m overseeing design direction, product development, branding, and the overall customer experience.
What sets me apart is my ability to bridge both worlds. I bring a corporate level of structure and professionalism into entrepreneurship, while also leading with creativity and vision. I’m intentional in everything I build, and I don’t rush the process. I focus on creating something that feels elevated, thoughtful, and aligned with long-term impact rather than quick results.
For me, this season of my life is about growth and expansion. Focusing on continuing to excel in my professional career while building something that reflects my long-term vision as a founder.
We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
I would say luck has played a balanced role in my journey, especially in terms of timing and perspective.
On the positive side, my corporate career gave me a strong foundation in structure, problem-solving, and discipline…skills that became very valuable when building Chas Lemere. I’ve also had moments where the right opportunities, conversations, or insights came at the right time.
I wouldn’t describe the challenges as bad luck. I see them as part of the process that helped me build resilience, think critically, and grow as a founder. Overall, I believe luck matters, but preparation and persistence matter just as much.
