Today we’d like to introduce you to Tasnim Nehme.
Hi Tasnim , can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
For most of my career, I was in the legal field. I went to law school, earned my J.D., and eventually landed the career I had worked so hard for. I truly believed that was the path I’d stay on for the rest of my life.
Then I became a mom, and everything changed.
I never planned on stepping away from my career, but after having my son, my perspective shifted. I realized how much I wanted the freedom to build something of my own—something that allowed me to be present for my family while finally using the creative side of myself that I’d put on the back burner for so many years.
The legal world taught me structure, organization, problem-solving, and attention to detail. But I’ve always been a people person. I’ve always been someone who leads with heart. I genuinely care about how people feel, and I’ve always noticed the little details that turn an event into a lasting memory. After attending so many weddings, celebrations, and community events over the years, I realized how much I loved not just being there, but imagining how everything came together behind the scenes.
That’s what led me to start Tasso Events. It gave me the opportunity to combine everything I’d learned professionally with my creativity, organization, and love for bringing people together. To me, an event isn’t just about logistics—it’s about creating an experience that feels thoughtful, seamless, and meaningful from beginning to end.
I don’t see this as walking away from the legal profession. That career will always be there, and I’m incredibly proud of everything it took to get there. But right now, this is where my heart is. This season of life has shown me what’s most important, and I genuinely love what I’m building. Looking back, I never imagined becoming a mom would lead me here, but I’m so grateful it did.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road, but I think that’s part of starting any business from scratch. There are so many unknowns, and building something from the ground up takes patience, consistency, and a lot of faith. There have been moments where I’ve questioned myself, but every challenge has taught me something valuable.
One of my biggest challenges has honestly been social media. I stayed away from it for a long time, so jumping back in and trying to keep up with trends, content creation, and constantly showing up online has been a learning curve. But I’ve realized that growth comes from being willing to learn, adapt, and put yourself out there.
At the end of the day, every challenge has been worth it because it’s helping me build something I’m truly proud of.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Tasso Events ?
Tasso Events isn’t your typical event planning company. I consider myself an event coordinator first and foremost. Whether it’s a corporate event, wedding, grand opening, community gathering, or private celebration, I love being the person behind the scenes making sure every moving piece comes together seamlessly.
What I love most is bringing order to what can feel overwhelming. From coordinating vendors and creating timelines to handling the unexpected, I enjoy making sure everything is organized so my clients can actually be present and enjoy their event.
More than anything, I care about people. I’m someone who leads with heart, and I genuinely think about how my clients and their guests will feel from beginning to end. Anyone can put together an event, but creating an experience that people remember is what matters most to me.
I don’t like putting my business in a box. I love working on corporate events, weddings, grand openings, community events, and just about anything that brings people together. Every event is different, and I enjoy finding creative ways to make each one feel intentional and true to the client’s vision.
At the end of the day, I want my clients to feel like they can hand me the details, take a deep breath, and trust that everything is taken care of. If they leave feeling stress-free and their guests leave talking about how smoothly everything came together, then I’ve done my job. That’s what Tasso Events is all about.
Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
One of the biggest things I’ve learned is that networking isn’t about competing—it’s about building genuine relationships. I truly believe there’s enough success to go around for everyone. Supporting others, collaborating instead of competing, and celebrating other people’s wins has opened more doors for me than viewing them as competition ever could. What goes around really does come around.
I also try not to compare my journey to anyone else’s. One of my favorite quotes is, “A flower doesn’t think of competing with the flower next to it. It just blooms.” That reminder has stayed with me because everyone’s timeline is different.
Another thing I always tell people is to never be afraid to ask questions. There is no such thing as a stupid question. Every person you meet knows something you don’t, and the only way to grow is to keep learning. I remind myself often that practice leads to progress, and progress is always more important than perfection.
Stay curious, stay humble, and keep showing up. Your authenticity and consistency will take you much farther than trying to be someone else.
