Hi Kayla, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
The idea for D2 Savings came to me a few years ago. I noticed that during Covid so many people were doing what they could to support small businesses. After Covid though I saw that enthusiasm go down. So I created a small business holiday coupon book for my local community to try and keep the momentum going in supporting small businesses. I had so much fun creating the coupon book and working with small businesses that I knew I needed to figure out how to do this full time. After a lot of back and forth to the drawing board the D2 Savings app was created!
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Not at all haha. In business you deal with a lot of chicken or egg scenarios. This was especially challenging for me. They say in business you need to market to where you’re making but I didn’t have that luxury. Signing up and creating a profile on the app is free for all. I needed to encourage and market to the ones signing up for free as well as market to where I was making money. It became quite the challenge because it’s very hard to balance where you put your energy into when it comes to marketing. I need shoppers on the app but I also need the deal to make it worth their time. But businesses don’t want to invest their money into advertising if there isn’t anyone to see their ads.

D2 Savings is a that posts sales, deals, and promotions to small businesses. For shopper and small businesses downloading and signing up is free. As a business once you’re ready to post an ad our prices are very budget friendly to help keep advertisement cost down. I want readers to know that D2 Savings has been working really hard behind the scenes to improve user experience for both shopper and small business. Those changes are almost done and I cannot wait to share all the improvements! I also can’t wait to hear everyone’s feed back so that we can continue to make improvements and better help support small businesses.
Do you have any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
Oh there’s so many! But I would say summers up north. My grandma lived up in Bellaire Michigan and I would spend weeks at a time with her. She lived on 3 acres and it was so peaceful and quiet and a great place to explore as a kid.
