Meet Jenna Daley of Drench

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jenna Daley.

Hi Jenna, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I grew up spending much of my time around the water at my family’s cottage in Ontario. As I got older, my passion for travel, adventure, and diving took me around the world, and being in and around the water became a huge part of my lifestyle.

The idea for Drench came during a trip to Jamaica in 2021. I was visiting the Blue Hole and preparing to do a 21-foot cliff jump into the water. I didn’t feel comfortable leaving my valuables behind, so I put my cash and belongings into a regular fanny pack and took the jump.

When I got out of the water, everything was soaked. I remember having to peel my bills apart one by one and leave them out to dry. It was a simple moment, but it highlighted a problem that so many travelers, beachgoers, and outdoor adventurers face. There had to be a better solution.

That experience inspired me to create Drench.

What many people don’t see is the amount of work that went into bringing the idea to life. I spent over a year working directly with manufacturers, developing prototypes, testing materials, and refining designs through countless revisions. I later traveled to China to meet with manufacturers in person and gain a deeper understanding of the production process to ensure every product met the standards I envisioned.

Today, Drench is a growing Canadian waterproof gear brand with products sold in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, and Australia. Our mission is simple: to help people enjoy life’s adventures without worrying about their valuables.

What started with a soaked fanny pack at the Blue Hole has grown into a global brand built for travelers, boaters, divers, beachgoers, and outdoor adventurers everywhere.

Get Wet & Stay Dry.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has definitely not been a smooth road, but every challenge has helped shape the business into what it is today.

One of the biggest challenges was developing a product that actually worked. Waterproof products need to earn people’s trust, so I spent over a year working with manufacturers, testing samples, refining designs, and making countless adjustments before I felt confident bringing Drench to market.

Another challenge was navigating manufacturing and international supply chains as a first-time product founder. I had to learn everything from sourcing and quality control to freight forwarding, packaging, intellectual property, and global compliance. To better understand the process and build stronger relationships with suppliers, I traveled to China and visited manufacturers in person.

Like many entrepreneurs, I was also building Drench while working a full-time job. Balancing product development, marketing, customer service, inventory management, and daily business operations required a great deal of discipline and persistence.

There have also been challenges that come with growth, including inventory forecasting, cash flow management, and expanding into new international markets. Every obstacle has required me to adapt, learn quickly, and continue moving forward.

Looking back, the biggest lesson I’ve learned is that building a brand is rarely about avoiding challenges—it’s about staying committed to the vision and finding solutions when those challenges arise.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
Professionally, I wear several hats that complement one another. I work as an e-commerce and brand management professional, helping businesses grow through Amazon, digital marketing, and strategic brand development. At the same time, I am the founder of Drench,a brand that I built from the ground up, and a travel content creator known as Jenna the Explorer.

My expertise lies in brand building, product development, e-commerce, and marketing. I enjoy taking an idea from concept to reality—whether that’s developing a physical product, building a brand identity, creating marketing strategies, or scaling sales across multiple international markets.

What sets me apart is that I have experience on both sides of the business. I help manage and grow brands professionally, while also building my own consumer product brand. This gives me a unique perspective on the challenges business owners face, from product development and manufacturing to marketing, logistics, and customer experience.

One of the accomplishments I am most proud of is building Drench from a simple idea into a growing global brand with products sold in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, and Australia. I developed the product through more than a year of testing and refinement, traveled to China to work directly with manufacturers, and continue to oversee the brand’s growth and expansion.

I am also proud of building a career that combines entrepreneurship, creativity, and adventure. Whether I am working with brands, developing new products, or sharing travel experiences through content creation, my goal is always the same: to create meaningful experiences and deliver value to others.

Above all, I am known for being resourceful, resilient, and willing to learn. Building a business has taught me that success is rarely a straight line, and I take pride in finding solutions, adapting to challenges, and continuing to move forward.

What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
One of the things I appreciate most about Michigan is its connection to the water and outdoor adventure. As someone who grew up around lakes, enjoys diving, and built a waterproof gear company, I naturally gravitate toward communities that embrace life on the water. Michigan’s coastline, boating culture, beaches, and access to the Great Lakes make it a truly special place.

I’ve also had the opportunity to collaborate with several content creators throughout Michigan, which has given me an even greater appreciation for the people and communities there. One creator who stands out is @bucketlistexperience.scs, who has built an incredible paddleboarding community. It’s inspiring to see people come together through outdoor experiences and a shared love of the water.

If I had to identify a challenge, it would be the shorter outdoor season compared to some warmer destinations. As someone who loves being outside year-round, I always wish summer could last a little longer. That said, Michigan’s seasons are part of what make it unique, and they give people an even greater appreciation for the time spent outdoors.

Overall, Michigan represents many of the values that inspired Drench in the first place: adventure, community, and a deep connection to the water.
