Meet Delaina Ramzi of Michigan

Today we’d like to introduce you to Delaina Ramzi.

Hi Delaina , we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
At just 15, I my jewelry interest sparked in a family-owned jewelry store, not answering phones or filing paperwork — but running vendor relations, mastering jewelry customizations, and learning the language of gold purities. From wholesaling to private clientele, I quickly learned that success isn’t built on flashy showrooms, but on honesty, expertise, and relationships that last. I help families, but especially women across the milestones of their life. From birthdays, to graduations, to wedding, to children’s christenings / bar-bat mitzvahs etc. My clients come back because we have a level of understanding and mutual respect. As a female founder, I provide the level of detail and service that women need, we just get it! Golden Gal is a destination where creativity flows & memories are tied to precious jewelry. With now over a decade in the fine jewelry trade, I am redefining what luxury looks like for consumers: exquisite designs, one-of-a-kind collections, and an experience that feels personal, not pretentious. I

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Struggles include lack of creativity from competitors. Who instead take the easy route and replicate some of our original designs. Finding software solutions to track our clients milestone events + birthdays + gift registries. We really need a digital platform for wish lists & registries! Other struggles include advertising!!! People are so excited once they’ve learned about us and we often hear “we wish we knew about you sooner.” So building awareness as were mid way through year 3 of our brick and mortar location is huge.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Known for jewelry refinement & custom wedding bands. Wedding bands are so great because we tie in the customers style and sentiment. I design for both men and women using diamonds and gemstones. These areas both require great attention to detail. Next, the jewelry refinement service is so cool. People bring in their old or unloved pieces of jewelry & we recreate something new using their gold value & any stones/diamonds. We share dialogue and I learn about their vision for the piece of jewelry, then I get to work bringing it to life. First via hand sketches, then jewelry CAD, then we cast in wax, the customer approves the design and we continue by casting in gold. We only work with precious metals ( 14k 18k and 21k) gold so everything we create has intrinsic value.

Professional life also includes doing pop-up shows across metro Detroit & Chicago. We go to country clubs, private events & high end businesses and introduce the Golden Gal products and services. In 2022 we did a record number of 21 pop ups in 1 year.

What was your favorite childhood memory?
Definitely my dance recitals. I danced jazz and hip-hop. I practiced 3 days a week & there was nothing I loved more than leotards and jazz shoes. Although I was a great student and enjoyed school, I was a gal of few words. SO dance was definitely the outlet for expressing myself.
