Today we’d like to introduce you to Cory Montgomery.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I started modeling 3 years ago, just trying something that had been a thought since high school. Initially started to get myself out there through runway and fell in love with it from there. Learning and growing as a model plus meeting, working and being supported by the right people helped me get better and get to the point where I am now.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It’s been an up and down road. From not having much direction I’ve had to learn a lot on my own. Also attempting to find what are and meeting industry standards has been a bit of a challenge. Pretty much having to shape myself into what the industry and what I believe is an ideal model. A lot of rejection but I’ve also been blessed to come across a lot of cool people and opportunities.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a model. I specialize in mainly commercial and editorial modeling but I also do runway. I’m most proud the opportunity to be able to work with great local brands, photographers and creatives and also being able to get in a position where I’m able to guide and push others in their modeling dreams.
What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
I see a big shift in the modeling market for Detroit within the next 5-10. It’s a growing market already and hopefully I’m able to be a part of that.
