Hi Azariah, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I first became interested in nails in 2020 & quickly developed a passion for the beauty industry. In 2022, I enrolled at Mosley School of Cosmetology to further my education & gain the skills needed to turn my passion into a career. After becoming a licensed nail technician, I started my business working from home, where I built my clientele & refined my craft.
As my business continued to grow, I took the next step & moved into my own nail suite, where I now provide personalized nail services in a professional & welcoming environment. Over the years, I have focused on creating high-quality work, building strong relationships with my clients, & continually improving my skills to stay current with trends & techniques. I’m grateful for how far I’ve come & excited to continue growing both personally & professionally in the nail industry.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely hasn’t been a completely smooth road. One of the biggest challenges was building a clientele when I was first starting out. As a new nail technician, gaining trust, getting my name out there, & consistently bringing in clients took a lot of hard work & dedication.
Another challenge came as my business began growing quickly while I was still working from home. Managing an increasing number of appointments, maintaining a professional environment, & balancing the demands of a growing business required me to adapt & learn quickly. While there were challenges along the way, those experiences helped me grow as both a business owner & a nail technician, & they ultimately motivated me to continue pushing forward.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am a nail technician who specializes primarily in acrylic nails, while also offering gel manicures & structured manicures. I enjoy creating customized sets that allow my clients to express their personalities & styles, whether they prefer something simple & elegant or bold & detailed.
Personally, I’m known for always having creative, eye-catching nails myself, which reflects my passion for the industry & my love for nail artistry. Among my clients, I’m most known for my nail art, attention to detail, & consistency. My goal is to provide quality work that clients can rely on every time they sit in my chair.
What I’m most proud of is the relationships I’ve built with my clients throughout my career. Many of them have been with me through different stages of life, & I’m grateful for the trust they place in me. I believe what sets me apart is not only the quality & creativity of my work, but also the experience I provide. I strive to create a welcoming environment where clients feel comfortable, valued, & confident leaving with nails they love.
Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
I definitely wouldn’t be where I am today without the support of a few important people in my life. First, my little sister deserves a lot of credit for being my guinea pig when I first started doing nails. She let me practice, experiment with new techniques, & build my confidence as I was learning.
My boyfriend has also played a huge role in my journey. He encouraged me to go back to school & constantly reminded me not to let my creativity go to waste. His support & belief in me gave me the confidence to pursue nails as a career & turn something I loved into a business.
Of course, my clients deserve recognition as well. Every person who has trusted me with their nails, referred friends & family, or continued to support my business has helped me grow into the nail technician I am today. Their loyalty & encouragement mean more to me than they know.
