Daily Inspiration: Meet Crystal Durfee

Today we’d like to introduce you to Crystal Durfee.

Hi Crystal, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I originally started decorating for parties for friends and family. It seemed as though I was helping with a different party every month. So I started taking photos and putting them online. I had a really hard time finding any training in our area, so I started watching YouTube tutorials like my life depended on it.
And here we are!

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
No way! I think one of my biggest hurdles is in pricing. There is such a sticker-shock when I tell clients what our prices are. I want to keep the cost down as much as possible…but it’s bit me a few times and I had to eat the cost myself.
I’m still learning.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
Balloons of course!
Big! Bold! Beautiful balloons!
It never gets old seeing people’s reactions to their balloon setups! They’re big, and unless you’ve ever seen one and stood next to it, you just don’t realize HOW big.
We do want our balloon art to look different than other companies, and we do that by using extra large balloons and props whenever possible and coming up with unique designs.
