Hi Dominique, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
My story has been one of constant reinvention. I’ve worn many hats throughout my career, from esthetician to retail leader, entrepreneur, student, and now content creator, but the common thread has always been a desire to help people feel more confident, connected, and inspired.
For years, I followed the traditional path, working my way into leadership roles while raising my son and building businesses and creative projects on the side. Along the way, I learned a lot about resilience, adaptability, and the importance of betting on yourself even when the outcome isn’t guaranteed.
Most recently, I made the decision to step away from a traditional career in the beauty industry, return to school to pursue a business degree, and build a more creative and purpose-driven life. As a Detroit-based content creator and storyteller, I share fashion, wellness, entrepreneurship, personal growth, and inspiring local experiences through the lens of reinvention. I love highlighting the people, businesses, and hidden gems that make Detroit special while documenting the realities of starting over, pursuing big goals, and creating a life that feels aligned with who I am and who I’m becoming.
Today, I’m focused on creating, learning, building community, and encouraging others to trust themselves enough to pursue the life they truly want.
It’s never too late to reinvent yourself. Some of the most meaningful chapters of our lives begin the moment we stop living by someone else’s expectations and start creating our own path.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No, it hasn’t been a smooth road. I’ve experienced loss, self-doubt, and plenty of moments where I questioned what was next. Most recently, I made the decision to step away from a career I’d spent years building to return to school and pursue entrepreneurship and content creation.
Starting over can be intimidating, but it’s also taught me resilience, adaptability, and the importance of trusting myself. Looking back, every challenge has helped shape who I am today and brought me closer to the life I’m working to create.

I’m a Detroit-based content creator, storyteller, and entrepreneur focused on documenting reinvention, self-expression, and the pursuit of a life that feels aligned. Through fashion, local experiences, wellness, entrepreneurship, and personal growth, I create content that encourages people to stay curious, embrace change, and keep their spark alive.
What I’m most proud of is having the courage to continually reinvent myself. Whether it’s building a business, returning to school, or pursuing a creative career, I’ve learned that growth often requires stepping into the unknown.
I think what sets me apart is my willingness to be a beginner. In a world that often celebrates expertise, I’m comfortable learning, evolving, and trying new things publicly. My goal is to inspire others to trust themselves, follow their curiosity, and create a life that feels authentic to who they are.
Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
Start now. The longer you wait, the longer it takes to learn, grow, and master your craft. You don’t need to have everything figured out before you begin.
I also wish I had understood sooner that being exactly who you are is your greatest advantage. It’s easy to compare yourself to others or try to fit into what you think people want, but masking who you are is exhausting and impossible to maintain. The people, opportunities, and experiences that are meant for you are often found on the other side of authenticity.
Trust yourself, stay curious, and don’t be afraid to be a beginner.
