Daily Inspiration: Meet Art Solis

Today we’d like to introduce you to Art Solis.

Hi Art , thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I was always drawing as a kid, but as I got older, I drifted away from it. Then one day I came across a book about airbrushing that was filled with incredible murals and artwork. It sparked something in me, and I remember thinking, “I wonder if I could do that.” So I gave it a try. Within a year, I had opened my first business, airbrushing T-shirts at Lakeview Square Mall. That experience reignited my passion for art and set me on the creative path I’m still following today.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
One of the biggest challenges I faced was the rise of online shopping, which gradually led to the decline of malls and the businesses inside them. As foot traffic dropped, so did sales at my store. Unfortunately, that shift in the retail landscape eventually forced me to close my business.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I currently work as a tattoo artist specializing in realism and large-scale pieces. I’m most proud of the trust my clients place in me to bring their ideas to life and create artwork that they’ll wear for the rest of their lives. Whether it’s a full sleeve, back piece, or custom project, I enjoy taking on work that challenges me creatively and allows me to tell a story through tattooing.

What sets me apart is my commitment to quality and my willingness to keep learning and evolving as an artist. I believe every tattoo should be unique to the individual wearing it, so I take the time to understand each client’s vision and turn it into something that exceeds their expectations. My focus on detail, composition, and creating tattoos that flow naturally with the body has helped build my reputation for large-scale realism work.
