Meet Brandon Merry of Westshore PC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brandon Merry.

Hi Brandon, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I started Westshore PC as a continuum of a prior business where I did similar work in SE Michigan during COVID. It was bore out of necessity when the company I worked for due to business shutdowns at the time cut revenue to almost nothing, so I had to get inventive. I thought to myself, “How can i transfer these skills to something that can’t be affected by the current environment?” That’s where the idea of having an on-site computer repair & Custom botique PC business came from. By having both parts of the business, I can ensure one can suppliment the other, regardless of economic conditions. After my wife and I spent some time in Indiana, we moved back to the west side of Michigan, where I started up Westshore PC to continue the work i was doing before.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I started Westshore PC this year based on my wife’s encouragement just a few months ago, so right now, the only struggle is to build the customer base by getting our name out there.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Westshore PC?
Westshore PC is a computer business that focuses on three areas; Remote/On-site service, Computer Electronics Diagnosis and Repair, and Custom PC builds based on the customers needs. We have done everything from game console repairs, Screen replacement, Gaming PC builds, Home office planning and installation, residential IT infrastructure, and more. One of the things I think that sets us apart is that while we offer similar services to other standalone businesses, our flexbility with on-site diagnosis and expertise on DIY component knowledge allows the customer the ability to get service where they are at, and not at just one location. I would like the broader Muskegon area to know that we can come to them if needed, and that we can assist with projects beyond just PC repair, such as wired ethernet infrastructure, PoE installation, and more.

Do you have any advice for those looking to network or find a mentor?
Since this is entirely an online footprint, and I am the sole person running and operating the business, I haven’t had a mentor or networking yet.

Pricing:

  • We start diagnosis at $49 in person, $79 on-site
  • Custom PC’s start at $599
