Meet Jessica Sweet of New York

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jessica Sweet.

Hi Jessica , please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I started modeling when I was a kid. I’d make my own outfits and put on a performance. My parents would always find me singing and dancing in the craziest outfits. I quit modeling for a long while, i was trying to figure out who i wanted to be, so i spent a lot of time experimenting with different styles. After my teenage years, still experimenting, I started to combine all these styles and ended up finding my own. With more confidence I started modeling again, creating my own artwork. Which led me to meet some many amazing friends and co-workers

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The biggest struggle I’m currently facing is my health. I’m okay and I’m on the road to getting better, but it put me offline for a long time. It mostly affected my back, knees and hips. Towards the break, I spent more time crying from pain after shoots then feeling joyous. I didn’t want to do that anymore and I still don’t, but as any good horror fan knows….I always come back.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
1: I’m a horror model. My modeling ranges from glamour to gore. I’ll add horror characters into my photoshoots and add my own spin on them. For example, Nightmare on Elm Street but a sleep deprived victim that Freddy killed in their sleep. I create all of my own outfits and i do my own makeup.

2: A lot of people know me for my short horror film called HAMPTON. A lot of my friends were involved in it and it kind of gave me a heavier push into the community. It’s about, what i created, The Boston 5. HAMPTON is a film telling the story of 5 friends in Boston NY who all went on a trip with Jessica Sweet. Jess went out for a creator’s party only to come home and find her friends had been murdered. Jess tries to escape a mysterious imposter but unfortunately loses her battle.

3: I’ve become most proud of my shoots that involves little makeup. I’ve always been insecure but now to see my beauty at its highest point has been such a heavenly reward.

4: I think what sets me apart from the rest, is the fact my modeling range is so spread out. I’ve done country, vogue, horror, vintage, pinup, black & white, you name it, I’ve done it all. That and i would say, my ability my go chameleon whenever i want to and need to.

If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
My ability to have fun with it is number 1. Always. I will come up with things off the cuff, create the most perfect backdrop as the cameras roll. I’m always thinking what i can change or do better.
