Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashley Abdenour.
Hi Ashley, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My career began in live events and music nearly 15 years ago, driven by a passion for bringing people together through memorable experiences. While attending Ferris State University, where I studied Music Industry Management and Business Administration, I started working in concert promotion, artist support, festival operations, and grassroots marketing. Those early experiences gave me hands-on exposure to every aspect of live events—from street team promotions and artist hospitality to production assistance and venue operations.
Over the years, I intentionally built a diverse skill set by taking on roles across the entertainment and experiential marketing industries. I worked with organizations including Live Nation, Riot Fest, AEG, CID Entertainment, PETA, Sundance Film Festival, and numerous festivals and touring productions throughout North America. These opportunities allowed me to gain experience in artist relations, VIP programs, hospitality management, production logistics, transportation coordination, guest experience, sponsorship activations, and large-scale event operations.
As my career progressed, I expanded beyond event execution into leadership, marketing, and strategic planning roles. I managed marketing initiatives for automotive brands, led content and community-building efforts for national clients, developed experiential marketing programs, and oversaw campaigns across dozens of markets. These experiences strengthened my abilities in project management, budgeting, team leadership, client relations, and creative strategy.
Today, I serve as an Event Producer with Fever, where I oversee large-scale live entertainment experiences across multiple markets. I manage everything from venue sourcing and budgeting to logistics, staffing, vendor management, and event execution. At peak volume, I have managed more than 100 events per month while maintaining exceptional guest experiences and operational standards. In addition to my work with Fever, I continue supporting major festivals, touring artists, and entertainment brands through artist relations, VIP experiences, hospitality, and consulting projects.
Looking back, what began as a passion for music and live entertainment has evolved into a career centered on creating meaningful experiences at scale. The common thread throughout my journey has been a commitment to building strong relationships, solving complex challenges, and delivering events that leave a lasting impact on audiences, artists, partners, and communities.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Not at all. Like many people in the music and live entertainment industry, my path has been anything but smooth.
The reality is that music is an art form, and for many years the compensation rarely reflected the amount of work required. I spent countless hours working for free, accepting minimum-wage opportunities, and taking on “pay your dues” roles simply to gain experience and build relationships. The industry can often be a pay-to-play environment, where experience and networking are just as valuable as a paycheck.
To support myself financially, I took jobs outside the industry while continuing to pursue opportunities in music and live events. There were periods where I was working multiple jobs simultaneously—including at a tattoo shop, a music venue, and freelance event gigs—just to keep moving forward. I invested much of what I earned back into my career, traveling to festivals, conferences, and events to build connections and gain experience. I’ve slept on countless couches and floors over the years, and there were times when I spent most of my savings chasing opportunities that I believed would help me grow professionally.
The long hours alone can be enough to make people reconsider the industry. Live events don’t operate on a typical schedule. Early mornings, overnight shifts, weekends, holidays, and weeks spent on the road become the norm. It requires a tremendous amount of passion and perseverance.
One experience that stands out involved a company I had worked with in various capacities for more than a decade. After a nine-month interview process involving multiple positions, meetings, and extensive discussions, I was led to believe we had finalized a role, salary, and start date. A senior executive even flew in to meet with me and discuss the opportunity in detail. After months of uncertainty and being asked to make significant compromises, including a substantial pay cut, I was ultimately told I would need to formally apply for the position and continue waiting.
At the time, it was incredibly disappointing. Looking back, however, it became one of the most important turning points in my career. That experience motivated me to take a leap of faith and move to California, where new opportunities opened up and ultimately accelerated my career in ways I never expected.
If there’s one lesson I’ve learned, it’s that success in this industry rarely happens overnight. It requires resilience, sacrifice, adaptability, and a willingness to keep going when things don’t work out as planned. I also wouldn’t be where I am today without the incredible network of friends, colleagues, mentors, and industry peers who believed in me, opened doors for me, and sometimes literally gave me a place to sleep while I chased my goals.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I specialize in live event production, experiential marketing, artist relations, hospitality, and project management. Over the course of my career, I’ve had the opportunity to work across nearly every facet of the entertainment industry—from grassroots concert promotion and festival operations to artist hospitality, VIP experiences, venue management, touring logistics, and large-scale event production.
Today, much of my work focuses on producing and consulting on live entertainment experiences, managing everything from venue sourcing and budgeting to staffing, logistics, operations, and guest experience. I am known for being someone who can take a complex project with countless moving parts and turn it into a seamless experience for both guests and stakeholders. Whether it’s a concert, festival, brand activation, VIP program, or special event, I enjoy finding solutions, building strong teams, and ensuring every detail is executed at a high level.
One of the accomplishments I’m most proud of is my journey with Fever. In 2020, I started as a freelance Production Assistant supporting what was then a relatively new concert series. What began as a freelance opportunity evolved into a full-time career, allowing me to grow alongside the company and the Candlelight Concert brand. Over the years, I progressed through multiple roles—from Production Assistant to Event Manager, Junior Producer, Producer, and now Senior Producer. Along the way, I helped scale Candlelight Concerts across the United States, supporting the growth of a concept that has introduced live classical music to entirely new audiences. Being part of that expansion and helping execute dozens of events each month across multiple markets has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my career.
What I’m most proud of is the breadth of experience I’ve built throughout my career. I’ve never been afraid to start at the bottom, learn every role, and do whatever was needed to support an event’s success. That hands-on experience has given me a unique perspective and allows me to understand the challenges faced by everyone on a team—from entry-level staff to executives, artists, venue partners, and clients.
I am also proud of the relationships I’ve built along the way. The entertainment industry is built on trust, reputation, and collaboration, and many of the opportunities I’ve received have come from people I’ve worked with over the years who know they can count on me to deliver results.
What sets me apart is my versatility and depth of experience. I’ve worked in nearly every corner of the live entertainment ecosystem—festivals, touring, venue operations, hospitality, experiential marketing, artist relations, sponsorship activations, and corporate events. Few people have experience both behind the scenes loading a stage, managing artist hospitality, coordinating VIP programs, producing events, and overseeing strategic planning and budgets. Because I’ve done all of those things, I can see challenges from multiple perspectives and bridge the gap between creative vision and operational execution.
At the end of the day, I am passionate about creating experiences that people remember. Whether it’s helping an artist have a smooth show day, creating a meaningful fan experience, or producing an event that exceeds expectations, I find the most fulfillment in bringing people together and creating moments that leave a lasting impact.
In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
I believe the live entertainment industry is entering one of the most exciting periods of transformation we’ve seen in decades, largely driven by technology. While the core reason people attend events will remain the same—the desire for connection, community, and shared experiences—the way those experiences are delivered will continue to evolve dramatically over the next 5–10 years.
One of the biggest shifts will be the integration of technology to enhance, rather than replace, live experiences. Audiences increasingly expect personalization, convenience, and interactivity. We’re already seeing this through dynamic ticketing, mobile-first guest experiences, AI-powered customer service, and data-driven event planning, but I believe we’re only scratching the surface.
Artificial intelligence will play a major role behind the scenes. Event producers will be able to use AI to forecast demand, optimize staffing and scheduling, personalize marketing campaigns, and improve operational efficiency. Rather than replacing event professionals, I think AI will allow teams to spend less time on administrative tasks and more time focusing on creativity and guest experience.
I’m also excited about the potential for immersive technologies such as augmented reality (AR), extended reality (XR), and interactive projection mapping. These tools can transform venues and create deeper audience engagement without taking away from the live performance itself. Whether it’s enhancing storytelling, providing educational content, or creating personalized moments for guests, technology will continue to blur the line between entertainment and experience.
Another major trend will be the use of data and analytics to better understand audiences. Event organizers will have access to more meaningful insights about attendee behavior, allowing them to design experiences that are more tailored, inclusive, and engaging. This data-driven approach will help producers make smarter decisions while delivering greater value to both audiences and partners.
That said, I don’t believe technology will replace the human element of live entertainment. In fact, I think it will make authentic experiences even more valuable. As our daily lives become increasingly digital, people will continue seeking out opportunities to connect in person. The events that succeed will be the ones that use technology thoughtfully—enhancing the experience while preserving the emotional connection that makes live entertainment so powerful.
One example I’ve witnessed firsthand is the growth of Candlelight Concerts. The concept successfully combines a centuries-old art form—classical music—with modern consumer behavior, digital marketing, and technology-driven event discovery. It has introduced live music to audiences who may never have attended a traditional classical performance, demonstrating how innovation can make the arts more accessible while preserving the integrity of the experience.
Ultimately, I believe the future belongs to organizations that can balance innovation with authenticity. Technology will continue to reshape how we discover, produce, and experience events, but the goal will remain the same: creating meaningful moments that bring people together.
