Today we’d like to introduce you to Kait Rose.
Hi Kait, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
My name is Kait Rose, (Kaitlin Parmenter). I started teaching myself how to play guitar at 15 years old, and began writing songs shortly after. Here’s my official bio:
“Kait Rose is a high-energy performer, a prolific songwriter and seasoned guitarist. As a singer, she shares her impressive range with a mixture of power and delicacy packaged in a sincere and vulnerable delivery.
Since 2001, Kait has shared her heartfelt, sturdy songs with people spanning in age and place, from Chicago to Seattle and most often, in Southwest Michigan.
Performances include appearances at Wheatland Music Festival, Blissfest, Hoxeyville, The Ark (Ann Arbor), The Acorn Theatre (Three Oaks), The Alluvion (Traverse City), and most reliably, at Bells Back Room in Kalamazoo, MI.

This summer, I am playing at Buttermilk Jamboree (a three day music festival at Circle Pines in Delton, MI. June 19-21) and Wheatland Music Festival (Remus, MI, Sept. 4-6). My Fleetwood Mac tribute (since 2017) is also performing several shows this year.
In addition to music, I am a horsewoman and mother of three. My husband is also a great musician, as well as an accomplished chainsaw carver. We live on a horse farm in Galesburg, Michigan, 9 Roses Ranch, (est. 2025) a multi-purpose event center and countryside retreat.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m proud to be a self-taught musician with 8 albums to date and working on the next one to be released this year. I’ve also recently started a new business integrating my love for music, horses and hosting events at our farm, 9 Roses Ranch. I am a very driven woman, and living my dream in a joyful way and sharing that with community feels like a big part of my purpose.
Is there anything else you’d like to share with our readers?
I am a mother and an artist, which can be hard to reconcile with. Around 9 years ago, I wrote a song called Bad Mother that was really scary, and really important/impactful to share.
