Today we’d like to introduce you to Darcy Fritsch.
Hi Darcy, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Quadrum Coffee was born from our family’s love of coffee and everything it represents in our lives: connection, comfort, and community.
The name Quadrum is a blend of two things closest to our hearts. The “Quad” stands for the four of us — Dan, Darcy, Quinn, and Norah Fritsch — whose shared love for community and togetherness inspired this dream. The “Drum” represents the very heart of our process — the drum roaster we use to carefully roast every small batch right here on site, bringing out the best flavors in each bean.
During the pandemic, we watched how much our community missed simple connection….the kind that happens over a cup of coffee and good conversation. That inspired us to create something that could help bring people back together again.
At Quadrum Coffee Roasters, our mission is simple: to craft exceptional coffee that sparks conversation, connection, and belonging. Because for us, coffee isn’t just what we do, it’s how we build community, one cup at a time.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It has been a struggle…we started out just roasting beans and selling them online and in the brewery where we are located. My husband and I both work other jobs so trying to balance it all and our family has been an adventure to say the least. We just opened up the coffee shop last year and have been trying to build our brand locally. Going up against more recognized coffee shops and more well known brands has been the biggest hurdle. We are also located inside a brewery which seems to confuse a lot of people. But we are determined to figure it all out and bring our community the best most fresh coffee. We call ourselves Hudsonville’s best kept secret as we strive to get our name out there!

We pride ourselves in being community driven and bringing people together. We love to get involved with the local schools and little league as well. We roast our own coffee and are so thankful to be able to provide that for our area. There are no other coffee roasters in Hudsonville that do what we do. We have a few commercial accounts that chose us for their coffee needs. We are so thankful for them…businesses like Rockford Construction, Journey Construction, 616 Realty, Max’s Southseas Hideaway, Alive Ministries, No Time Flat and Big Lake Brewing Company have been with us from the beginning! We are able to provide single origin roasts with no filler beans just good pure small batch roasted coffee. We are a family owned business and I personally grew up right here in Hudsonville so being able to start a business here and be a part of this community is truly something I never thought I would be able to do
Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
Growing up I was the oldest from a divorced family. I had a lot of responsibility at a young age and I believe that is why I am the way I am. I always got good grades and was involved in sports. We moved around a lot so being part of a community means so much to me…putting down roots and establishing meaningful relationships is so important to me and how my husband and I raise our daughters.
