Check Out Ryne Shyne’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ryne Shyne.

Hi Ryne, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My name is Ryne Clarke; I have been playing music and have been in bands since I was 15 years old. I started playing accordion at age 13 and then moved to electric guitar. I went from strummer to singer, songwriter, and band leader with my first band The Preservers. We played all throughout the state while in high school and released two albums “The Preservers” (2016) and “Made with Soy” (2017). I then spent a brief period post high school playing bass in a punk band called the Alien Dogs. While my Preservers bandmates went off the college, the project dissolved.

Shortly after I started my solo/collaborative project called The Ryne Experience that enlisted past bandmates, new bandmates, and rotating live group of around 10 members, not to mention the 50 plus rotating artists featured across the six studio albums release from 2018 to 2022 (“Hokey”, Shopworn”, “Funky Town”, “Homey”, “The Onion Tree”, and “The Hits”).

This project came to an end in 2022 as I rebranded to my new solo name that I use today “RyneShyne”, the name change went hand and hand with mostly acoustic performances and a slimmer crew of studio players across the four releases (“RyneShyne”, “Lofi Agent RyneShyne”, “RYN3SHYN3” and “Cheers!”)

As I changed names I got more into studio recording of other groups as well as myself. I have been running “Upstairs, Man Studios” from my parents’ house, my apartment, and now my home in Lowell since 2021, having a hand in engineering, live tracking, or mixing for 50 plus albums/singles/eps/live videos.

Other notable projects:
Vernon Potts – short lived psych-punk band with one album in 2023,
Clarke, Reed, and Meadows – semi-active folk group playing mostly 60s and 70s folk songs
Spuddies – current full band with one release in 2025 “Baby Gaucho”

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It’s been a wild ride. I never wanted to sing, but now I am so glad I did. I have found so much joy in writing, recording, and live shows that I never thought possible. I feel incredible grateful to have done so much with so many wonderful people. I’ve had more success than I thought I would for a therapy passion musical career.

It’s hard to say there were struggles when there’s so much to smile about.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Outside of my musical Carrer, I work in non-profits in Lowell, MI.
I am the Technology Coordinator for the Lowell United Methodist Church.

I am a Program Manager for Lowell Arts.

and I provide contracted sound work for the Lowell Area Chamber of Commerce.

What are your plans for the future?
I am currently adjusting to my new home and have been hard at work writing and recording what will be my 15th overall album. I have been off and social media and playing less shows to just try and live life and create. I foresee this 15th release being a step in a different direction that audibly and visually will be something unlike anything I’ve done. I hope to tour this with my first out of state tour in 2028.
