Today we’d like to introduce you to Maria Crowe.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My family and I relocated to Petoskey in 2024. It used to be the place we would travel to destress and reconnect with nature. Now we have the privilege of living in the paradise. The winters aren’t without challenges, but we wouldn’t change it.
My greatest achievement in life is being the mother to my sweet baby, Joseph Lee. He is 14 months old and soaking up everything Northern MI has to offer. You can find us at the lake, on the bike, in the library, or at the fish hatchery.
I am the General Manager of Jellystone Park™ Petoskey. I love finding unique ways that our campground can partner with and support local missions. We have partnered with Camp Quality Michigan for years to provide free camping to families affected by childhood cancer each fall. We are also partnered with Misson Six to raise fund to support veterans in need of a service dog. Even though the branding of our campground is big, our heart is to serve the community we are located in.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The biggest obstacle this year is the Spring flooding we experienced. We had over 7 ft of water in the basement of our building and water getting into campers that were stored on property over the winter. This challenge also leads me into my proudest moment as a General Manager. The company that manages us, EOS Hospitality, approved a Flood Displacement offer so that we could open the park to families who has no where to go and allowed them to camp for free while the flooding was in full swing. People would have to bring in their own camper, but the generosity of EOS never ceases to amaze me. Also the generosity of the seasonal campers at the campground was undeniable. They sent meals for the team and vendors who were working tirelessly on the repairs. Petoskey faces a challenge, and we always comes out stronger on the other end.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Jellystone Park™ Petoskey?

Our campground is open seasonally, April 24- October 31. We have short term site and long term sites. We are Yogi Bear™ themed and an all age property.
What does success mean to you?
Personal success looks like growing each day. I believe we can all be kinder, better listeners, and show more empathy. It doesn’t have to be big, but daily, I want to be a better version of myself, for my team, but also for my family.
