Today we’d like to introduce you to Kim Blair.

Kim, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Professional Bio

With over a decade of leadership experience in operations, retail, and business development, I currently serve as the Vice President of Operations and Development at Rebel Nell, a mission-driven organization in Detroit, MI. In this role, I oversee the full spectrum of business development, production, logistics, and inventory systems—ensuring seamless functionality across departments while driving strategic growth.

My journey at Rebel Nell began in 2022, where I’ve progressively scaled leadership roles from District Manager to Director of Business Development, and now to Vice President. Throughout my tenure, I’ve led multiple store openings, enhanced inventory systems, grown retail and event revenue, and developed a high-performing customer service and sales team. My work has directly contributed to increased operational efficiency and a 50% growth in client event partnerships.

Prior to Rebel Nell, I honed my expertise in customer-centric retail leadership roles with Heartland Dental, Ted Baker, and Nordstrom, where I led diverse teams, optimized store operations, and consistently exceeded sales goals. I bring a strategic yet people-first approach to leadership—developing systems that empower teams, elevate client experiences, and scale impact.

Whether launching new markets, refining operations, or building partnerships, I thrive at the intersection of mission, strategy, and growth.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
There are always obstacles. No job is perfect, and no situation has one correct answer. Every hurdle made me a better leader by teaching me the hard way. There’s nothing specific that stands out, but a lot of mistakes were made, and although I consider myself perfect, it will always happen.

We’ve been impressed with Rebel Nell, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
As the Vice President of Operations and Development at Rebel Nell, I lead the strategy and execution behind the company’s growth, operations, and client partnerships. I oversee business development, production, logistics, and inventory systems—ensuring that every part of the organization runs efficiently while scaling our impact.

In my role, I focus on building systems that support both business performance and mission delivery. From expanding revenue streams through corporate gifting, retail, and experiential activations, to leading cross-functional teams and optimizing operations, my work sits at the intersection of purpose and growth. I’m passionate about creating structures that empower teams, elevate customer experience, and drive meaningful, sustainable impact.

What was your favorite childhood memory?
Growing up in Chicago (the actual city). When I moved to Michigan, I realized how my childhood in my city made me a more independent person, and I was able to adjust to the new normal. I also realize that not everyone has the privilege to live such a cool childhood in a city.
