Inspiring Conversations with Ana Rosczewski of Hedonist Soup Company

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ana Rosczewski.

Hi Ana, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I’ve spent most of my career in marketing and promotional staffing, but outside of work I’ve always been someone who creates with my hands: cooking, baking, building spaces, and finding meaning in small rituals of care.

Hedonist Soup Co. began from a philosophy I’ve carried with me since I was young: that pleasure isn’t excess, it’s something necessary and deeply human. Good food, warmth, beauty, music, comfort- the things that make life feel lived in, are what makes it meaningful.

Over time, I realized there was a gap between convenience food and truly nourishing food that still felt thoughtful, slow-made, and comforting. I started developing soups that tasted like someone had cared while making them, even on days when cooking feels impossible.

What began as an idea slowly became a real business: recipe testing, building a brand from scratch, designing packaging, photographing products, navigating health inspections, and creating a visual world that reflects the feeling I want people to have when they interact with the company.

Today, Hedonist Soup Co. is a premium frozen soup company centered around the idea of “Pleasure, Practiced.” The goal has never been indulgence for indulgence’s sake; it’s about creating nourishment that feels grounding, beautiful, and repeatable in everyday life

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Building this business has not been smooth. I’ve been blindsided by problems I didn’t even know could become problems. From regulations, logistics and learning how much is involved in a product that looks simple from the outside. But in a strange way, that’s also what made the business stronger: every challenge forced me to slow down, learn, and build more intentionally.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Hedonist Soup Company is a small-batch frozen soup company rooted in the idea that pleasure isn’t excess; it’s care, ritual, and nourishment practiced daily. We specialize in elevated, comfort-driven soups and slow-made foods designed for people who want something deeply satisfying on the days cooking feels like too much, but being nourished still matters.

What sets us apart is our approach to both flavor and philosophy. Our soups are made with high-quality ingredients, thoughtful techniques, and an intentional resistance to the overly optimized, industrial feeling that so much convenience food has today. We want our food to taste homemade in the truest sense: layered, soulful, and quietly luxurious.

Our brand sits somewhere between comfort food and lifestyle philosophy. We’re inspired by domestic ritual, Nordic simplicity, warmth, texture, and the idea that small acts of care can meaningfully shape everyday life. Even though our products are frozen, we see freezing as preservation rather than compromise; a way to capture food at its peak while making comfort more accessible and repeatable.

More than anything, we want readers to know that Hedonist Soup Company is about creating moments of warmth and relief in ordinary life. Pleasure, practiced daily.

What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
I’m an east side transplant, now a lifelong West Side is The Best Side believer.
I most love the people of Grand Rapids- they live life slower than most. This translates into held doors, a genuine passing smile or a superfluous chat. It feels like Grand Rapidians are all a bit Hedonist.

Least favorite? Grand Rapids drivers have a unique talent for making the wrong decision at exactly the wrong speed: either aggressively too early or hesitantly three business days too late. There is almost no middle ground.
