Meet Angellic Guyton of Michigan

Today we’d like to introduce you to Angellic Guyton.

Hi Angellic, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
As kids, we dream about becoming stars or princesses, and I was no different. I always had a huge love for fashion and creativity. I used to practice my runway walk around the house, use my dolls as pretend models, and participate in youth fashion shows at school. Fashion always felt exciting and expressive to me.

I remember looking through magazines as a child and telling myself, “One day, that’s going to be me.” Even at a young age, I just knew I was drawn to that world.People would approach me in public or message me online telling me I should model, but for the longest time I honestly didn’t know where to start. Modeling can feel like this huge industry that’s hard to break into when you don’t have connections or guidance.

One day, I searched online and came across a company looking for models for a photography workshop. I applied, got selected, and that opportunity changed everything for me. That one “yes” opened the door to so much. After that, I started networking and meeting photographers, designers, fashion directors, and other creatives. Every shoot taught me something new about confidence, expression, and artistry.

From there, it just grew naturally. I kept creating, collaborating, and stepping outside my comfort zone. Modeling became more than just taking pictures it became a way for me to tell stories, express emotion, and create art.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Not at all. It’s definitely been bumps along the way. I’ve experienced prejudice in different forms, and the fashion industry can be very vain at times. There’s often this pressure to be “perfect” or to fit whatever image people are specifically looking for in that moment.

Being a curvier model comes with both positives and negatives. On one hand, I love representing confidence, beauty, and fashion for women with curves. But on the other hand, people sometimes try to put you in a box and limit what they think you’re capable of as a model.

I’ve never liked being confined to one category. I don’t believe beauty, fashion, or creativity should have limits. I want to be able to do editorial, high fashion, commercial, artistic shoots — whatever inspires me creatively.

Those challenges honestly pushed me to work even harder and stay true to myself. I’ve learned that confidence is everything in this industry. The moment you fully believe in yourself, you stop letting other people define your worth or your potential.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
As a curvy model from Pontiac, I also love showing people that beauty and fashion don’t fit into one box. I want girls who look like me to know they belong in these spaces too. I would say one of the biggest things I specialize in through my modeling is confidence, strength, and creativity. I want my photos to make people feel something. I’ve always loved creating visuals that are bold, expressive, and a little unexpected.

I enjoy stepping outside the norm with my shoots. Whether I’m modeling in the snow, dressed like an alien, inspired by comic books, or channeling a superhero vibe, I love bringing imagination into fashion. I don’t ever want my work to feel repetitive or overly safe. Creativity is what keeps modeling exciting for me.

Anyone can take a pretty picture. Anyone can be sexy. But I feel like what sets me apart is my ability to make the unconventional feel trendy, confident, and attractive. I like turning things people may consider “weird” into art that people remember.

As a full-figured model, I’m especially proud of showing that curvy women can be versatile. We don’t have to fit into one lane or only represent one type of beauty. We can be edgy, futuristic, glamorous, artistic, playful, powerful, just all of it.

I think what really separates me from others is that I’m not afraid to fully be myself in front of the camera. My personality, my imagination, and my confidence always show through my work, and that authenticity is something people connect with.

Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
I think risk-taking is necessary if you want to grow creatively. If you always stay inside your comfort zone, you’ll probably create the same things over and over. Some of the best art and fashion moments happen when you try something that feels unfamiliar or even a little intimidating.

Recently, I’ve been taking more risks with my makeup and creative direction during shoots. I’ve done more outrageous and experimental looks like literally painting myself blue for a concept shoot, which was something completely outside of my norm. Before, I probably would’ve overthought something like that, but now I’m more open to pushing boundaries creatively.
