Hi Mercedes , we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
From Faith to Film: A Journey Rooted in Purpose
I was born and raised in Detroit—a place that shaped my resilience, my voice, and my story. Growing up, life wasn’t always clear or easy, but one thing remained constant: a quiet, undeniable pull toward something greater. I felt it deep within me.
I am a mother of two beautiful children Mariah and Jacob, and little do they know, they are my reason, my hope, and my daily reminder to keep pushing forward. They fuel my determination to show them what faith, courage, and perseverance truly look like.
My roots were planted in the church. That’s where I discovered my voice—not just in song, but in spirit. Singing became my first form of expression, a way to release, connect, and feel seen. It was in those pews and choir stands that something inside me awakened.
But if there was anyone who saw my light before I fully recognized it myself, it was my mother. She was my biggest cheerleader. She believed in me in a way that pushed me beyond my comfort zone. She didn’t just encourage me—she challenged me to step into my gifts. In 2014 she attended a stage play, not knowing that moment would shift the direction of my life. When auditions were announced, she took the initiative and submitted my name.
I showed up, unsure but willing—and I was cast. That moment ignited something in me that has never gone out. I fell in love with performing instantly. From there, I became a part of numerous stage plays, where I was able to beautifully blend my love for singing with acting. Each role taught me something new about myself, about storytelling, and about the power of stepping into different lives while discovering my own.
Eventually, I felt called to expand—to dive into film. In June of 2024, I attended my very first film audition. I walked in with faith, not fear. Since then, doors have continued to open. I’ve had the opportunity to star in multiple independent films, each experience sharpening my craft and deepening my understanding of the art. With every role, every set, and every lesson learned, I continue to grow.
Being able to use both my singing and acting is more than a talent—it’s a blessing. It’s purpose. I believe wholeheartedly that my journey is not just for me. I am here to inspire, to uplift, and to remind others that their dreams are valid and within reach.
Through every high and low, one truth remains: God will carry you—as long as you believe.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Just staying motivated, not getting discouraged and having patience for the process.

I specialize in both acting and singing. My work is rooted in storytelling that connects emotionally and authentically with audiences.
What I’m most proud of is my growth and consistency. I stepped into this industry with faith, limited experience in film, and a willingness to learn—and I’ve been able to build momentum and land multiple roles.
What sets me apart is the depth and authenticity I bring to my performances. I have movies available now on Tubi for streaming, My Crazy Seven, The Perfect Him, The Wrong Someone, No demands, My Secret Lover and more upcoming projects scheduled for release. I have some upcoming roles I’m casted in that I can’t wait to start production for: be on the look out for Interlude: Where love and music meets. I will be stepping into the Lead character of Naomi, I will be able to showcase my singing.
What’s next?
My plans for the future are centered around growth, expansion, and elevation in my craft. I am focused on stepping into larger platforms and working with bigger networks, while continuing to build a strong and diverse portfolio. I’m excited to take on more versatile roles that challenge me creatively and allow me to show different layers of who I am as an actress and singer.
