Today we’d like to introduce you to Patti Pacola.
Hi patti, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
In 2016, fresh out of college, a county seat was open in an upcoming election. On a whim, I decided to give it a go. I had a job I loved, co-workers who were like family and nothing to lose running for an office but everything to gain if I won. To my surprise, I won.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The path I chose is very rewarding yet not always easy.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
In a nutshell, my work can change often (sometimes dailey). As County Clerk, I create all county vital statistics such as birth certificates, death certificates, marriage licenses and clerk all county commissioners meetings just to name the basics. As the County Register of Deeds, I am the keeper of all county land records. Last but not least, as the County Election Administrator, I create all of the county elections. What sets me apart from others is that even though I have a staff, I am hands on in every duty of my office. I am proud to be a part of the team and not just a director.
Who else deserves credit in your story?
My husband deserves a lot of credit for my success. Even though he may not be hands on-he is my biggest support in everything I do.
