Today we’d like to introduce you to Alicea Davis.
Hi Alicea, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I started in elementary school with drawing flowers in art class as instructed but I added my own touch later on. Jump on to age 25, I lost my corporate American career and decided that I would be a creative for the rest of my life because I wanted freedom, freedom, FREEDOM!
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I struggled with choosing abstract as my creative theme because I started out with realism (painting buildings) that sold regularly. The Lord told me to draw a symbolic painting and I have been in love with painting my emotions ever since.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Right now, I sell art online. I have a few stores (eGalleries) one in Paris, one in Texas, and of course my gallery on AliceaDavis.com I am trying to reach the world that has mental struggles or have over come mental health challenges and with Christ’s message of forgiveness.
Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
I have lived with mental health issues and it gets easier with the right medication, support, therapeutic routines and prayer.
