Life, Values & Legacy: Our Chat with Melissa Warren-Dick

We recently had the chance to connect with Melissa Warren-Dick and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Melissa, thank you so much for joining us today. We’re thrilled to learn more about your journey, values and what you are currently working on. Let’s start with an ice breaker: Are you walking a path—or wandering?
I love this question so much. I’m a wanderer at heart, and I think right now I’m wandering more than walking, and I’m okay with that. I think in order to fully walk a certain path, we gotta wander a bit to truly find our way.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Sure thing! My name is Melissa, the owner of Empress of the Night’s Light LLC, and I help people come home to themselves through deep reflection, radical acceptance, and self-healing. I am a tarot reader, astrologer, breathworker, seeker, and alchemist who helps people find new direction along their healing journeys. We all have moments where we feel lost or confused along our life path, and I’m here to help others find their way again. We work together to find answers on next steps depending on what the cards tell us, as well as how to best navigate our stars using our natal chart alongside the current transits happening in the sky. Seeing these things more clearly, we breathe together and work through any stored energy that may be present in our bodies and slowly release it together. All of this helps us reconnect with the spark, the light inside of us, that can be dimmed as we navigate our world. I also create fun merch, including shirts, mugs, totes, and more just for funsies.

Okay, so here’s a deep one: What did you believe about yourself as a child that you no longer believe?
Oh, this is a tough question. I had very low self-esteem and low self-worth as a child, and was riddled with anxiety. I thought I would never see adulthood, and if I did, my life wouldn’t be anything special. Now I know differently, thanks to years and years of inner work and healing.

Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Oh yes, a couple of times. 😔 The most recent time, about 5 years ago, I made a promise to myself that I would give myself a year to rebuild my life. A year to give it my all. And if nothing got better, then I could make another choice. Lo and behold, a year later my life improved immensely! For anyone in a similar spot, please don’t give up. Give yourself time to take back your life.

I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. Is the public version of you the real you?
Ohhh, good question. Yes, it is, at least as much as I wish to share with the public. I’m a private person, so some things I choose not to share, but I do share my most authentic self with others as I continue to get to know myself. Always changing, always growing.

Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. When do you feel most at peace?
In meditation, or out in nature. Bonus points if I can do both at the same time.
