Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I moved to Detroit, Michigan 12 years ago from Los Angeles, California. I had very little capital but I had a vision! Detroit is a place where if you have a vision and the endurance to work that vision you can achieve it! The spirit of industry is ingrained in this city! Although I was born in Los Angeles it feels like a homecoming. My grandmother Essie Wright retired from Wayne Wright, as a Registered Nurse. She also during WWl built radios to be installed in miltary vehicles. My mother Syreeta Wright, attended University of Michigan, worked as a secretary for Motown, became a singer song writer and first wife of Stevie Wonder. Detroit is now forever my home.
My first job was as a security guard. My passion for the field is decades deep.However I noticed the need for a more engaging customer service approach. We do away with the “warm body” model of the “Big Box” Security companies.
Our Success has come from the relationships that we have built and attention we give to our clients needs.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
One of the Obstacles that Code 4 has overcome was the ability to service larger corporate clients. We started off providing services to smaller businesses and expanded to exponentially larger corporate clients. We treat each client, no matter the size, with the same level of care of our 1 on 1 personal relationships.
Another Obstacle that comes to mind is to have “patience until perfection”. I can see the way a thing SHOULD be however it takes time to arrive to that point.
