Hi Gina, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
We are a husband-and-wife team that started this company in our garage while planning our own wedding. We were one of the Covid couples, so we understand just how demanding planning events can be and try to alleviate that stress whenever possible for our clients. We both worked full-time Monday through Friday and then our “dates” as my husband would call them would be setting up events on the weekends. What began with much smaller pieces, has blossomed into a large-scale event business quickly. Each event that we service lays a strong foundation for the years to come. We believe in building slowly and correctly. Our clients have been the anchor holding the company steady and to them we are so grateful. We are now a family of three, but Grand Rapids Chiavari Company was our first baby. Happy to say we have our garage back too!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Nothing worth having comes easy, but it is safe to say we have not had any major issues (yet). When you’re an entrepreneur, you figure it out. You have to be dependable and creative when it comes to solving problems, because when you own your own business there isn’t anyone else to ask. One of our major struggles was learning how to run on little to no sleep and still being functional at our full-time jobs when we had them. We gave up many weekends and plans for events that nobody really understood but us. The biggest struggle was not being supported by the ones who didn’t understand. That is when you really have to dig deep to push through. At the end of the day, it was never about rental equipment anyways. When people depend on you for the most important moments of their lives and you deliver- it’s hard to describe the pride that comes with honoring your commitments.

Grand Rapids Chiavari Company is a growing event rental company based in the Grand Rapids area. We are the only company that price beats when provided with another company’s invoice. Because we are a smaller company with little overhead, we are able to pass those savings onto the customer.
We have serviced events with 10 guests and 500 guests, regardless of the guest count our commitment to excellence is consistent.
We are happy to work with our clients to create the perfect solution for their individual needs.
If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
Dependability, especially in this field is critical. Without it we would not have clients or repeat clients.

- Pricing- We try to price beat when provided with a company’s invoice. Ensuring that you have the lowest price garunteed.
- Guest Count- Your guest count can change up to 30 days prior to your event date. Passing on savings to you.
